Here's the team http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=187265. Relyn Lashtraveller (http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=2171372) just rolled 5+5 on his latest skill roll. What do I take?
While I'd normally take the movement or guard he's in crying need of a mundane skill like block if I use him as a hitter or dodge to get in all those really annoying places. At the moment I use him as my ball retriever when there are lots of tackle zones on the ball, as an assist where I need him most, or just as a catcher when I need some reliabilty.
Do I "waste" the movement or the double in favour of block or dodge? I think the only doubles choice worth considering is jump up. I wouldn't give him guard cause he won't stay up without blodge and I don't want him getting hit unnecessarily.
ps. Yes I'm getting rid of the double-niggled lino and buying two linos. |

Damn...that is one of the toughest decisions ever. I've never been lucky enough to have such a hard decision......
+ma on a beast like that would be great, but the use of doubles for guard might be better and try and get him leap next..... But block will insure longevity hopefully....
Very hard decision indeed |

MA is great on him...

If that were my choice I would prefer:
1st) Mighty Blow
2nd) Block
3rd) +MV
4th) Side step |

Take block to keep him alive... or what about dump off for some spectacular plays - with ag 6 he'll make every pass |

Time to forgo the doubles and the 10 and buy block or dodge (I would take block). Get those two skills and you have an extraordinary ballcarrier/blitzer/passer. Buy something like +MA now, and your player will probably niggle before they reach their potential. |

Also dump of is only a quick pass last time I checked. Its better for that player to recieve a dump off rather than make one. Block is a good choice. |

I've had a couple of situations with players never rolling normal... unless the player is a norse or dwarf I'd limit none-normal skills.
A decent number for elves would be 3 special skills... you really want them to get blodge sidestep (blitzers get tackle)
Your player is wicked sick and will get the +ma!
But in your heart you still know that block is better
/me owns a CW waiting for block at 76spp |

Why is that? My most famous player ever, Sai, didn't get block until he hit 76 spp. I'd say he had a pretty good career, if I do say so myself... |
