During my time on FUMBBL in the last 14 months or so, I find myself about 120 games under .500. To those who have played me several times, this is not very shocking. I can attribute some losses to terrible luck and the occasional missclick, but most of my losses.......get ready for this......are my own fault. Yes, I said it, MY OWN FAULT!!!!! What's this? A FUMBBL coach holding himself accountable for his losses? That may be shocking to some of you.
Now, prepare yourself, here comes the real shocker: Most of YOUR losses are YOUR OWN FAULT! Try telling yourself this, does it sting? The truth hurts.
My reason for this post is that I am SICK and TIRED of the constant whining and people blaming everything and everyone but themselves for losing games. I'm not accusing everyone, but there are a great many of you out there that this applies to, and you know who you are.
My opinion is that most of us(myself included), when we visualize our teams, we only imagine them doing what they have the potential to do. Whether it is bash the other team into oblivion or make repeated dazzling plays, we visualize our teams performing well so much that this is what we expect them to do every time. Unfortunately for these dream games to happen, it would take a massive amount of good dice rolls and most of the time this dream dies fast, and for many of you, the whining begins.
Out of all the pathetic excuses and delusional reasoning coaches have used in a desperate effort to shift blame away from themselves, this one is my favourite, and I've heard it more than once:
"The admins don't like me and are fixing the dice in my games"
HAHAHAHAHA....yeah, like the admins have nothing better to do than go around people's games and screw up their dice just for spite. If they did have that kind of time, they would be, oh I don't know.....PLAYING A GAME, MAYBE?!? And to those of you suffering brutal dice rapes who think your oponent has hacked into the game, get over it. He's only rolling dice that are not only possible, but the same dice that you expect your own team to be rolling. And if you're thinking "Oh yeah? Well how come I get diceraped way more than I have good games, then?" Answer: Same reason as above, you don't remember your great games as much because that's what you expect of your team.
You all have the right to whine if you want, and I have good news for you: There is a fumbblwhiners channel just for you. Go use it, and that way your babytalk is not bothering the rest of us in Main, in our group channels, our smack and tourney channels, or aywhere else. We don't give a F..... |

Actually i dont think they have a clue. I think they genuinely believe its never their own fault. |

LoL
the thing is, no whiner will ever come in the room. Because that would be admitting that he is a whiner.
I used to whine too, but didn't admitted it. Now that I recognise it. I can say it is less of a problem.
Come all whining in the whining room! |

Who cares?
Any sane man should know he's responsible for his actions.
Well, maybe a lot of Bloodbowl coaches are quite insane (me included). |

well I also think that most losses are the fault of the coach but when an Elf team never make a single pass in a game or when an Ogre Team never does some Cas against AV 7 although they have a lot of pows then this is also a problem of luck |

If they lose and whine with regular teams I'd invite them to play with a halfling only team XD |

On the contrary, such games are entirely statistically predictable. Play enough games, and you will get some like that. |

And that is what a lot of people tend to forget, when they refuse to believe they just rolled 6 1's in a row, and blame it on the admin client. |

What is the point in whining if you can´t bother others with it?
Are you trying to tell me there is no admin client?
And that there is no cheating involved? Then I wonder why a game offer was turned down when I did host direct and my supposed opponent said he only plays proxy because "it stops people cheating".

Well I don't really see the problem of whining, it depends on how you do it.
If you play your elf team and they cant dodge and cant throw the ball during the entire game, then most I think would be frustered and whine some.
or
ag3 makes 3 dodges through several tackle zone with minimum 2 tackle zones, then pick up the ball and then makes 2 GFI of dodges and throw the ball and bang you have a goal. This would seems very very unlikely to happen, but it did. And I am pretty sure that most coaches would form some sort of curse, whine or what ever you call it in your head. Maybe even comment it on the IRC channel you are on.
ARGH, WTF, stupid elf, kill the dices, etc etc etc.
If you begin to bad mouth the other coach for being lucky or you begin to blame the other coach for your unluck, then it is bad.
I mean using offensive language.
Plus people tense to look at the luck meter in the corner... which I don't understand why it is there. I know how it count your luck % but still I don't feel like it gives the whole truth actually. When everything seems to go wrong and your luck meter is still on 61% then it is just an irritating factor laughing right at you. |

Yeha I lose way more than I win..... If I'm just losing I don't whine any or much. BUT if my orcs are knocking down 'zons and never hurting ANY and they just keep crazkin my armor left and right well then...I reserve the right to whine a bit. But on the other hand there are some annoying coaches that whine constantly about every lil thing. One guy once told me he couldn't believe I took that 1 Die block with my block tackle guy let alone knocked him down! I had to stop taking my turn to explain the die roll to him I had too! |
