For everybody thinking sidestep, it won't work since he has SF already. In the client, SF cancels out the SS, you'd never get to use it.

Yeah, we already covered that point.

Ya know, the more I think about it, I'll recant my previous position that Dodge is preferable- Pro will cover exactly 50% of everything mentioned above, each turn, including Take Root, which may be the most crippling of all possibly. If he wants to do anything, and fails, he can try Pro (and pray the 50/50 coin toss goes his way.) If you don't like anything that he does, it's a 50/50 chance to RR it - think of it as half a free RR, just for him, every turn.

But again, it all depends on who you play- if you get a lot of Str 5+ opponents, then maybe you want to keep him standing with Dodge (altho' Pro will help him stand up again as well IF he does ever get knocked down, irrc.)

They are close, in my book as well as the straw poll here.

Thx all. Going with Pro. Though Dauntless was tempting. Wink

Passblock. Nobody will ever see it coming, and the tree gets to move for free.

Well, but only one player can do a pass block and Woodies can develop interception machines.

No you can use as many passblockers as you have within range.

It's a really tough choice, but I'd go with Pro. The stand-up rolls and the Take Root are the banes of treemen.

I still say Pro, but I think Pass Block actually has some merit if you get another double. 3 free moves may not get you to the passer or catcher, but if U get in the way you still have ~ 1/4 chance of catching it (with ProRR), and at least U should be able to get next to a nice juicy target for your next turn. And Alanir is right - no-one would ever see it coming, especially if they dont read your team roster, as the skill will be off the bottom of the portrait.

Sadly, Pro can't be used on interceptions (although I remember when we did use to play it like that …)
