I can't but agree!
Playing most kind of teams gives me pleasent surprises on how the coach has developed their team and how that form their tactics. Dwarven coaches however seem to have the same idea on how to play bloodbowl. Playing dwarfs once pretty much sums it up for future games too. With my WE or DE i will win but pay the price in a SI or KIA or two unless luck is very much on either side. With my orcs or chaos I know pretty much what to do to have a fair chance of winning although it is not as easy, but they will still come ahead as they always do and we will still stay foot as we have done so many times before. Even Wellington would have been very boored with Napoleon if he rised to power for a third time.

Dwarves are the hardly the only ones who can have a predictable game plan.
WE for example:
Pass-->Handoff-->TD
Handoff-->Pass-->TD
Ocassionally it gets really exciting and the one-turner gets into the action.
Honestly, while I agree that it is safer to play against the above team, is it really much more interesting in the long run? It doesn't take long for WE vs WE matches to become boring. |

I agree, the elf two turn td is about the most boring play in the game. The only thing lamer is the one turner of course but we all know that. |

As alittle side note from the topic at hand: I just have to say that those wood elf catchers would make absolutely perfect dirty players. |

We all play this game differently... that is what makes this game interesting. WE score on 2 turn basis and Dwarves bash and move the ball very slowly. That is just the way it goes... But still by far the most worst losers I've seen are the elves, because they always start whining, when you take out the heart and soul of the team, the sure agile scorer. With dwarf teams, you don't get that one... making them more fun to play. Although I score points, with a team of mine for killing elves (EMU) it gets more and more duller to play the pointyears.
This is a game of brutal fantasy football and should be kept as such. If you want realistic passing plays and nice TD's without violence, go play Madden 2004
Thank you. |

Well.
I dont think dwarves is unbalanced considering an elf team.
Its much easier for regular elves to get spp's on their linemans and so on.
Of course it might not be fun to meet a team with block and tackle on their linemans from start.... But I see no reason why you cant play the dwarves when they higher at tr and you too.
If you cant play a dwarf team at higher tr it aint about your opinion about the dwarves.... its a matter of cowardry and a fact that you might not be able to handle dwarves... you might simple not know how to play against them.
I didnt play dwarves before I started Fumbbl..... before that I played alot of elves and so on... I never hesitated to play against any team.
I say: what you dont do you wont learn from.
A few games against dwarves and you will see that they aint that bad..... tackle!!!!! wtf many have tackle at higher tr.
And for the guard, mighty blow, stand firm....
Well what can I say.... its skills like many other teams can take.
Elf teams get cool skills too....
Shortly..... learn how to play against dwarves instead of being scared of them. |

I would once again like to propose a Ork Hunting League.
orks head= 3 points
ork SI =1 point
Ork kill u= -3 points
won game = 3 points
lost game =-1 point
And if the Orks refuse to play us dwarfs, we'll just bitch and moan about cherrypicking
come on who is with me?
(non-dwarfs might be allowed in as long as they are good races) |

Seems like the only time dwarves want to play my dark elves is when they have at least 40 more team str. |

For some reason, I think the javabbowl favores Dwarfs and Khemri in the injury roll.... but that's just my though |

Well I think the only case that the client might favour a Dwarf or Khemri team's injury roll is when Christer plays them. There are some interesting sections of the javabbowl code that read:
if (player.name=christer) then ... |

Does anyone else hear the violins playing when they read this thread?
If your goal is to facilitate change--to get Elf teams to play Dwarves, questioning their masculinity is probably not a good approach. Call me crazy, but I think insulting people doesn't work all that well. |
