Hi everybody, I would like to ask to the guys ho cares about rules in BBowl what sense has to give the MVP to a death player after the finish of a match.
An option to give Mvp with sense,to me, should be to give it to the player in the field who makes more spp on his own... but I understand that as it is done up to now it can balance the players on a team which can have skills also if they do nothing in the field different to be meat in screamage...
Another option should be to let the coach decide if he want THE OTHER coach to assign Mvp to his team...this should be very happy-people acting and very beautifoul option in a friendly community like this one...
I also agree with the option to randomly select a player in a team, but I don't like things like they are actually...
Yesterday I played a game against Melmoth (damn if he is good coach!) ...
My human team get pushed very hard but exited from the game..."able to survive" ... I get 2 players killed but the team is able to continue fighting ...instead of get retired.
I had some players with 4 or 5 spp points ... ready to skill...with the help of MVP...but when I went to my roster at the end of the game I can't find where the mvp was...
...what happened was that the mvp was assigned to a Death player...(his death occured in the first turn of the first half of the match............very strange kind of mvp )
Don't you think that a control is needed in the mvp assignment mechanism at the end of the match which selects only ALIVE players as able to get MVP |

If Heath Ledger can win an Oscar for the Batman thingie your players can also be honored posthumously.
Yes, it sucks when it happens....
But best get over it. |

He gave his life for your team!
The least you can do is to honour him with the title Most valuable player!

You're whipping a dead horse on this issue friend.
I've had a problem with this rule from my very first TT game way back when. I and others, not I and others on fumbbl, think it should be the coach who decides who gets the MVP. Whenever I run a TT league the coach gets to decide who gets the MVP, that way it's not wasted. |

To be honest, this sounds even more silly than doing it randomly. If you can just assign the MVP yourself to any player that is normally hard to skill you unbalance the league in a BIG way.
Rotters, Sauri, Flesh Golems.....
All skilled within a few games?
That is not how it's supposed to be. |

I think the only way to do that fairly is to let the coach decide his own MVP, and give the other coach or organizer the option to veto and make him roll randomly. |

I think someone is getting far to upset over something that really Shouldn't bother him. No offence meant, but other then becoming Overpowering on slow skilling players (There is a reason mummies have little to no AG) you really shouldn't be relying on the MVP at all. I never count on anyone getting skills after a game, let alone wanting the MVP so I can achieve them, it is a random thing that sometimes says thanks and sometimes laughs in the face of annoying deaths. |

And you can even make your own!
So now you can always make the guy you want MVP!
The can even win spelling bees and get a lost tooth certificate.

Dude, it happens!
Seems even more silly to me to give an MVP to someone who didn't even make it out on to the pitch all game, and just sat in the dug-outs!
In our TT league, we go with the consensus... which is roll randomly, and re-roll for dead players (who get a poist-humous honour of some sort instead) and re-roll if the player who got the MVP didn't even play.
One of the first games after agreeing this rule, I RIPped an opposing player and res'd him on my necro team... he got the MVP for both teams (10 SPP :O) but had to reroll both, cos he technically died, and never came on the pitch for me, as he died in turn 16 |

Very little point discussing this as it is implemented exactly as it is in the Blood Bowl rules. If you want to change the rules of Blood Bowl, you need to go to Talkbloodbowl.com.
