Its simple, just copy the icon, close the image window and create a new image using the copied picture, takes a bout 2 seconds and you can use the whole colour range |

I've found a way to add colours to your palette.
I find them on other icons (or a similar colour) and then press a little blue cross on the bottom of the palette box. Don't know how it got there or if it was always there though. |

Aha. Thx guys. Gonna give those two a shot next time I redo an icon. |

Ok.
Wanted to do some more icons for a couple new guys on my teams and neither of those two methods turned out well:
1. Royston:
What exactly do you mean by "palette box" and where is that blue cross supposed to be?
Even after looking it up in the online-help I cant find the palette-editor anymore.
2. Shades_SteelFist:
I did what you said and ended up with a new pic in RGB-mode,
which means that the colour is not 100% covering anymore and that neighboring pixels get influenced when trying to paint a single pixel.
Changing the mode back to "indexed" in the newly created pic results in the same old limited palette I had in the original again.
And why isn't there a standart 256-palette in GIMP?
All I can see is weird special themes and the 216web-based palette.
Is there a place to download premade palettes maybe?
(Couldn't find any on the mainpage.)
Any suggestions? |

Very much looking forward to this implementation. I have a ton of custom players to port over (and a ton of blue uniforms to paint). I have a lot of standard/custom icons I use to tell my own special players apart (DPs, +ST guys, etc.), and I'll be scuffling a bit in FFB telling my players apart until we can customize them. |

Use the annotations for now. Shift+Click a player and you can add text to them. Works very well. |

Well, it's a GLN article, but hey, it's still informative! |

I'll resurrect this thread only because I was thinking about custom icons the other day and Ehler's blog and profile led me to it.
Not that I'm clamoring for this over custom league options, but has there been any movement on this feature?!? |

I dont think so, I asked Christer a couple of weeks ago.
Shame, the more customizable the better |
