mercenaries and cards are missing too | Ahh, OK. So, mercenaries are really substantially of importance; the cards I think could be neglected (are they not special rules anyway?). |

cards are part of the CRP rulebook, and i believe Kalimar plans to implement (most of) them at one point. |

This is cool; no argument here.
Still, I think that the game and the concept of inducements can sustain with only the cards missing (at least for some time, since implementation of those will not be trivial and there are still more important open issues). |

The Special Play cards are optional rules for clarification. |

zakatan, it was my underworld team, im sure I've never been above 14 players with it, your point is a good one though and knowing me if there's something it's possible to get wrong/forget im your man
will keep an eye on it in future though.
edit: it was this game http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&op=view&id=3124696 |

Nope! Played and won (because my opponent fell asleep, but still.....)
On topic. Yes, we need to loosen the restriction. Percentage doesn't necessarily bother me, but make it bigger, or if we are newb protecting have the client warn, "This game has a TV difference of **, are you certain you wish to play?"
edit:: no special change for halflings, just a larger difference possible in general |

I don't see why there is any cap to the TV difference in Ranked, but I'm new. However, said max will stop me playing as Flings (and probably Goblins, too). |

It is a remnant from the previous version of Ranked, where silly differences of team strenghts were not compensated at all by the handicap system, thus preventing very uncompetitive games to happen.
In the new Ranked, the allowed difference in strength is way smaller although the inducement system is much better at making games competitive than the handicap system. I doesn't make much sense, does it? |

no..what doesn't make much sense, is why people are harping on this, when halflings have been doing just fine in blackbox with this rule already in place...
but hey, i guess you people need something to complain about, right?

It doesn't to me, but remember that there were good reasons for the original cap (and the invention of TS, for that matter). Everyone be very pleasant, or we'll scare the Jan away!
@Shadow. Not right away, but yes, I generally assume that my way is the best. Here is hoping Christer agrees!
@shadow's post he made while I was posting. Most of us are off the halfling exception at this point, I think. |
