This forum thread is for anything relating to Season 43 of the SWL.
Links:
Announcements:
- Divisional Structure
We are holding tight on numbers, with some coaches parking (hopefully to return) and some fresh meat that looks quite juicy. Don't salivate too much!
- Season Commencement
First round will be due by Monday 30th January. Divisional draws will be up around the 16th.
- Axing
Remember that we are no longer using the email, so PM to the swladmin FUMBBL account by 10pm Monday Sydney time if your game has not yet been played. Check out the Guide for more information, although in essence the process has remained the same. This is also the method for advising of parking at the end of a season.
- General
Please be aware that we rely on individual coaches to be active in checking this forum, arranging games against opponents (especially if not on east coast of Australia) and in communicating with Admins. The responsibility is on the coach to enquire, not the Admins to inform. Please feel free to ask any questions, anytime.
Rules Changes
We have reintroduced the Trial of Blood. Drafting teams will be able to play trial matches against other coaches' Fringe teams. Only one game per coach. Any number of games to a TW limit of 120. |

The Cathay Cobras are reported to have once again gone on tour down to the sticky Southern Wastes looking for fresh, bloodily trialled meat.
If you want to make sure not to evoke the wrath of Cobras Coach Choke Tserdak, send a pre-emptive message and ask for a trial game. |

Changes to Fluff
There will be some changes to the way we do fluff in swl - especially the twahnlow system. I will elaborate further tomorrow most likely. |

SWL Twahnlow Changes
Due to the ineffectiveness of the twahnlow voting system it is being removed. It just wasn't working. Instead we encourage coaches to create their own fluff in their match reports or the Channel BB forum thread (link at bottom of this post). Some coaches may wish to do a report from the coaches perspective of each game to add to their teams flavor. It's really up to you.
So as a result we have revamped the Twahnlow awards to make them more prestigious. Receiving a twahnlow award is now much harder and a greater accomplishment. The following awards will be awarded at the end of each season:
The Duke Snakefield Medal: Most (non MVP) SPP in Prem for the season.
Conference Player of the Season: Most (non MVP) SPP in Conferences for the season.
Regional Player of the Season: Most (non MVP) SPP in Regionals for the season.
The Rising Star Award: Most (non MVP) SPP for a new player/rookie this season. (player must not have played a game before the start of the season).
The Duskwind Strongarm Arrow: Most Passing Yards for the season across all divisions.
The Sin-ler-fa Slipper: Most Rushing Yards for the season across all divisons.
The Replacemnts Knuckledusters: Most Casualities for the season across all divisons.
The Geoffrey Grimwade Fists: Lowest block/casualty ratio (min: 3 cas) across all divisions for the season.
The Eth'el Shield: Most Blocks across all divisions for the season.
The John Stone Boot: Most Fouls across all divisions for the season.
The Disco Dan Ball: Most TD's across all divisions for the season.
The Touchstone Heart: Most turns spent on the pitch across all divisions for the season.
