Hello
I managed to create a group and add my brothers team to it. Created a round robin style tournament only to find out I need 4 players to start a tournament.
So i guess that's not the way to do it, if at all possible, Is it possible to create a closed league with just my brother and me?
Thanks in advance for any replies (or atleast for reading ) |

Yes there is.
2 ways.
1. You each have 2 teams, and you forfeit 2 games.
or the better way
2. You each have 1 team and add 2 filler team

you could use a filler team but it may be better to use an open style tournament, especially if you have 2 (or more teams) each. That way you can create your league and play each of your brothers team in one competition (and he yours).
Hope that made any sense to you |

Okay. So we don't need four different coaches but four diffent team. So if we just add a couple of teams of the race we want to try out, then we can bash heads all day if we wanted? |

You can also just play your League teams against each other, without creating a group or tournament. But only do that with teams in League division, not with Ranked teams. |

How do we do that? We're both having trouble navigating the site |

You both just click 'Play' next to your teams, and enter the same game name. |

you might want to take a look at this:

although it's now a bit outdated i think it will be helpful to you.
League division allows open play in the same way as Ranked. |

I'd suggest xnoelx's advice. If you created a tournament with filler teams you'd still only get to play 1 game before you had to restart it again. Unless you really want to use some of the custom rules, just playing open League games would be much easier. |

Myself and a friend have been playing 2 player tournaments for the best part of 6 years now. We play using League teams and simply have spreadsheets to list results etc. Usually, these take the form of each of us selecting 3 teams - they play each other once (so 9 games in total, 3 games for each of the teams). Our best team each will then play off in a final. There are various differences over the years, such as longer tournaments, as well as attempting - with little enduring success! - or enticing old friends we used to play table top with.
I love the site, but mainly my love for the game stems from the days of table-top. Hence the lack of communication with the other players on the site site. |

Given how new you are, you may want to join the 145 Club with some League teams. This will give you practice against other newer coaches, and get your feet wet generally.

I'd recommend that you two both play separately in a competitive division too. That way you can test your mettle against a good cross-section of coaches. Ranked is good for parallel cooperative learning, 'cause you can go play like 20 games against whoever you find on gamefinder or whatever, then come back for the occasional game together to compare developmental notes. It's harder to do that so deliberately in Blackbox. |

Just play on the gamefinder with your league teams . . . Then the 'Vs Record' becomes your league table (sort of) |
