10 : PIT TRAP
Description: A devious groundskeeper has set up a pit trap for you.
Timing: Play after your turn has ended or your kick-off to an opponent is
resolved, but before your opponent’s turn begins.
Choose a player: that player is Placed Prone, no Armour roll is made.
If the player had the ball, bounce it as normal.
Seems to me all it does is forces the opponent to pick the ball up again and limits their movement a bit.
Although we're using these cards in a league for one off game and so far has been funny |
Consider the case when your opponent has made a really tight cage - you press it hard then at the end of the turn make the ball come loose. In a classic cage it has a good chance to scatter right outside. If you are pressing hard you might even have the ball end up in the middle of your own players. Certain teams find it really hard to recover from this situation: think Khemri, Dwarves, Orcs, Nurgle. Even if they then recover the ball, their positioning can be all screwed up. Its not about instant turn over but ruining their drive. |

Also looking forward to miscellaneous mayhem, especially Eclipse. The idea of clawpomb nurgle warrior legends suddenly getting killed as (regen-less) goblins appeals to me a lot. |
But in stunties giving away inducement already hurts a lot since certain teams dont benefit as much from skills as others do, e.g. snotling. |

But this is FUMBBL. If we find out after playing thousands of games (something which the BBRC couldnt do) that the cards imbalance the game, we exclude this part of the rules from the competitive divisions. |
Just like we excluded the clawpomb killstack? Oh, wait... |

Excluding skills or certain skill combinations for a player is far more attacking the ruleset than excluding cards is.
But of course Clawpomb should get nerfed. |

And I'm on the "great fun" side as well!
(Even though for the Agility Monsters, it's a rather bad thing: They are giving away inducement money almost all of the time, need risky plays and don't easily recover from losing the ball...) |
I play in a league that uses all the cards. I use Dirty Tricks the most. For a Div like Ranked, it will change the hole dynamic against the Cherry Pickers. People will now be worried playing 50k up, when in the past they avoided 150k. I'm excited about the upgraded. |

Oh adding the dirty tricks is going to be a lot of fun and add some more tactical situations at the start of a match.
BUT this would make the DT deck so much more fun.
Fix the tournaments in League that allows the comish to add inducement money only for buying cards...it is currently bugged and does not work!!!!
Now that would make this a ubertastic upgrade with the DT deck. |

As one of my league teams regularly gets 400+ inducements against them, perhaps it is time to learn to minmax rather than trying to push them over the 2500 mark. |

NAAAAAH. The good part is, once you give up more than 250, bigger gaps get BETTER for you. It's what drove me to make TV 2900 woodies. ;D |
