I didn't get the regular "mid 2nd half"-crash!

This is due to a sound engine fix suggested by Christer.

"Faster" is relative. There is a lot less traffic on the test server compared to the productive one, of course. The test server does a lot more logging, though... Wink

Just 9 games.......well........so if complaints start coming in about bugs in the client we know who to blame. Every single person who hasn't been playing in test mode!

One great thing about test mode is that you can make stunty teams, so some LRB/Stunty action is possible.

Perhaps I need to explain the purpose of such a public Beta a bit better.

A multi-user client-server software like FFB is difficult to test in all its aspects. A lot of bugs appear only in very specific situations under stress. Several games running simultaneously, lots of spectating, some real load on the server. How is the performance then? How stable is it in this situation? Where is the limit?

Every strange behaviour we can find in the Beta, every bug that gets detected and fixed will make the transition to the "live" system smoother. Every server crash we get in Beta is one we can possibly prohibit from happening when the "real" divisions run on the system. We'll know what to look for...

To be able to say anything meaningful about the quality of the new code we'll need at least 100 games or so. The more the better. Even better with several games running in parallel.

It's in your hands, really... So do something about it!

There have been a lot more than 9 games I've had about 9 unfinished games alone that have been cancelled by admin to free my teams up. Bug reports have been made where needed, though Kalimar fixed most of the other issues on day 1.

@Garion: I certainly don't doubt YOUR commitment. Wink

There have been 9 finished games at the time of my posting. True, there have been some more that crashed or couldn't be finished (especially on day 1). Which doesn't change the basic message in any way...

Didn't notice anything odd when giving cheaters/SWs a run thorugh. Had most normal situations with the weapons (and shadowing on a B&C). No HMP with the crowd/caught bugs (if they still exist). Ran like a normal game, and with no sound crash.

I take it the SW rolls are tied to the rister, not the division, and they'll work as normal for regular teams?

The promised game options (100K free inducement money and an extra MVP at the end) should work now, I deployed a server fix.

That's not Pass Block, that's just Safe Throw working as intended.
