Give me something to write about!
Okay, here it is.
Season is coming to an end, with only a few games left to play. Let's have a look at the NFC West:
Code: | Franchise Games Record
Ban Fran F. .623% 11 6 - 2 - 3
AZ Sinners .524% 12 5 - 3 - 4
Seattle Weed .494% 11 5 - 1 - 5
In-Sane Louie .321% 12 3 - 2 - 7 |
Ban Fran and Seattle down one game. Seattle has Chicago next, which looks like a safe forfeit win setting them above Arizona, Ban Fran will face Green Ball and stay on top whatever this game's outcome will be.
The final games for the NFC West teams:
Ban Fran: Detroilet in week 13, followed by Arizona in week 14.
Seattle Weed: Arizona in week 13, followed by Detroilet in week 14.
Arizona: As mentioned, Seattle first, then Ban Fran.
In-Sane Louie: Running out of competition, facing Green Ball week 13, followed Chicago in the final week.
Could this be more thrilling? ... except for In-Sane Louie |

In-Sane just beat Detroilet recently in a crazy game so they can still rock the boat at the least.
Though they lost some good players forevermore. |

BigBen is dead... in an incredible display of failed rolls, he finally succumbed to a turn 15 foul... alongside his 2 teamsmates

I do believe this may be reason enough for a inConf. grudge feast next season |

So what are the possible permutations now?
I will happily admit I am politely bemused by the various playoff scenarios... |

Ha ha. Believe me... I am trying.
I have kind of stopped at "If I win my last game, nothing else really matters". |

OK, so I thought I'd quickly write down the possible playoff scenarios and found myself in extremely more muddled waters than anticipated. Thank you very much, AFCS!
Here though, I think, are the possibilities concerning the AFC:
AFCE:
Jets vs Miami will decide which AFCE team goes to the playoffs: Jets have enough with a tie, the AFCE #2 can never make the playoffs.
AFCN:
Ceaveland at 8-2-3 have won their division.
Pittsburgh sits at 6-1-6, an identical record to Fangsas and no longer are in control of their own destiny. If they win their last game and both Hacksonville and Indianapolis doen't win their last games, they're in. If either one does win though, they need to hope that either the Chiefs don't win their last one, either that Oakland loses their last game and end up behind Fangsas, as he has the head to head on the Raiders but the Chiefs have got it on him.
A tie could also be enough for the Pirates if 2 out of the 3 of Hacksonville, Indianapolis and Fangsas lose their last one.
A loss will never cut it.
AFCS:
Tennessee at 9-1-3 have won their division.
Both Hacksonville and Indianapolis are sitting at 20 points right now with one game to go. Their head to head games have been two ties. If both teams win their final game, their divisional records will also be identical. Indi leads the TD-differential stat by 4 TD's though, so one would expect the Crypts to have the tie-breaker over their rival in this scenario. With both teams winning, the AFCS is sending 3 teams to the playoffs in any case though, so that would only matter for seeding.
In case of both teams tieing their last game, The Quagmires have the better divisional record and have one up on the Crypts, who really need to win their last one to be sure to get in (again assuming Hacksonville doesn't win with a 5 TD's bigger margin than Indi).
For Hacksonville, a tie is only good enough if 2 out of 3 teams out of Pittsburgh, Fangsas and Indianapolis don't win their final game.
A loss is good enough if 2 out of 3 out of that same lot also lose their games.
For Indi a tie is good enough if either both Fangsas and Pittsburgh don't win their last one or at least one of them doesn't and Hacksonville loses.
A loss for Indi means he needs Pittsburgh to lose their last one and Fangsas to not win (unless Indi loses by 4 TD's or more, in which case a Fangsas tie puts the chiefs on top).
AFCW:
Div winner will be decided on the final gameday. Oakland sits at 7-1-5 and Fangsas sits at 6-1-6, so Oakland needs to just not lose their final game to take the division. In order to take the division away from the raiders, Fangsas needs Oakland to lose their last game vs Cleave Land and win its own game. In case of a robocoyote-return that would always be enough for the Chiefs to win the division by TD-differential (head to head and division records would be equal and Oakland is up one TD atm). However if robo doesn't return to try and keep his longtime rival out of his first playoff appearance (as we really expect the rotten bastard to), the Chiefs would need Oakland to lose by two TD's, as the cas differntial is definitely in the Raiders' favour.
But when winning their last game but not their division, the Chiefs need The Crypts and the Quagmires to cooperate by at least one of them not winning their final game.
A tie is almost never good enough for the Chiefs, unless Indi loses by at least 4 TD's.
If Oakland ends up not winning the div, they also need The Crypts and the Quagmires to cooperate by at least one of them not winning their final game.
As for seeding...
Tennessee clinches the #1 seed if they win. If they tie, Cleave Land needs to win by a 4-TD margin to take the #1 away from the Titanz. If they lose and Cleave Land wins, the Dawg Pound shall be #1.
I'm definitely not sorting out the seeding of that whole playoff-possibilities-mess below that though. Tennessee and Cleave Land will have byes, that's what matters. |
