Hi all,
I have a pro elf thrower who has just rolled a 12. I can give him a +str, but he's had two skills already, sure hands and accurate, so it seems it might be wasted. I was thinking Strong Arm, make him an amazing passer. But I also know that passing up a +Str is like spitting in Nuffles face.
What would you do?
Here's the team. |

What would I do? Always skill my Throwers with Blodge instead of passing skills so it's not wasted if he gets +ST |

What would I do?
Not have a thrower so the +ST would be on a blitzer or catcher! |

+ST. Just think how much harder he'll be able to throw the ball with all those muscles... |

He's got 1 cmp per game, with pass yards per completion about 3.
That shows you're not going to need Strong Arm, you're probably not going to use it, so take the Strength, then Block and Dodge for the next two skills. He already makes more blocks than passes, and he'll get blocked more on top of that. The strength will actually help. |

Depends on the style of your game. I personally would rather have a strong arm+accurate thrower rather than a st4 one.
Thing is Pro Elves are one of the few teams where passing is actually a good option, so having a guy who can sit in your backfield and then fire bombs (13 tiles away on a 3+!) is really a plus.
You already built him as a passer, so i would go down that route with safe throw as next skill.
Build the other one with blodge. |

If you want to play a long passing game, go for Strong Arm.
My thrower averages 7.3 yards per throw. Admittedly, Safe Throw makes that gameplan more viable, but you have 4 NoS catchers, that is hard to defend against.
ps. take Leap as Bird's next skill! |

As someone who plays a good amount of Pro Elves, I would take the ST+. First, it's ST+ as a gift from that dead skunk fellator, Nuffle... take it. Second, as ST4 in the backfield he is less likely to get caught by a 2D blitz in the open field, which allows more folks to go out for passes. Third... yeah: get blodge now. You still have time (skill at 51 and 76, right?). He'd be an excellent short running passer, which is what you appear to use him as anyway. Fourth: all special players have stat increases. He can be good and serviceable without ST+, but he'll never be special (unless the next skills are stats ) |

+ST makes him useful all game whilst strong arm is only useful when passing and even then only occasionally.
Elfs are great at scoring but often struggle on defence. |
