Evander Hardspike of the Ranked Amateurs has skilled up and got a second double. He has +ST, Block, and Mighty Blow. What next?
The two that spring to mind are Piling On and Guard. I only have two Guards, but this guy is so often making the hit, that I can't tell if it's a better choice than Tackle. I have a PO already, but you know how it goes, it's a fickle world and having an insurance policy might be nice.
There are other good skills too. What would you pick? |

I chose Guard, but you could make the argument for Piling On or Dodge. I would definitely take a doubles skill and just get Tackle when he rolls a normal skill. |

Dodge then Tackle for this guy I think. |

Pretty sure I was going to say PO, but looking at your team, you already have a pomber (though he's pretty beat up).
Guard on ST4 is nice, though he is unlikely to get SS or SF, so probably dodge is better for survival. And even sure hands later to make him your ball carrier.
However, I think any of the choices are strong ones, it's really a matter of what you plan to use this guy for short and long term. |

Dodge can help maybe a tad more with mobility. |

Hmmm. Dodge is tempting. The only reason I hadn't considered it is that I'm unlikely ever to get more. I hardly ever dodge with this guy, and he doesn't take a lot of hits, but between the two it's not so bad. |

Dodge or Guard, that's what it's down to.
Went to bed thinking Guard, woke up thinking Dodge.
Think I still need a minute to think.
Anybody got a great argument for one over the other? |

That beat up POMBer has a potion with his name on it. Unless he dies, lol.
Still, two POMBers is vaguely tempting.
Argh! |

You won't go wrong with either Guard or Dodge.
Flip a coin I guess. |

There isn't a great argument when the entire team has the same skill access. I'd go guard just because I think it pairs very well with ST4 and other guard players and you wont get many opportunities to take it on the team. If he was ST4 AG4, it'd be a no brainer, but he's not so go with the thing that provides utility more turns per game.
From an idealistic team building POV I'd want 4 guard players on hand from the get go. |
