New Edition:

Khemri Teams - Same as they are now but with Brawler Tomb Guardians

Bretonnian teams:

2 Grail Knight Blitzer - Steady Footing
2 Knight Catchers - Catch, Nerves of Steel
2 Knight Throwers - Pass, Nerves of Steel
0-16 Squires - Wrestle

Note - there are no peasants in the team, plus there is Dauntless in the team, likely on the Blitzers but it's not specified.


All templates are the same as is pitch size

New Secure the Ball action - can be used once a turn, and means you can pick the ball up on a 2+ if there are no opposing players within 2 squares. Big Guys can't use this action. It says it "ends your turn" I assume this means the players action, though it could possibly literally mean turn?


Wildly Inaccurate

The Kick off table has been "improved".
Officious ref doesn't exist anymore.
Dodgy Snack - don't know what this does yet but it's a new result

New key words:

"Distracted" is a status
"chomped" is a status

Monsterous Mouth works differently and can cause a Chomped status?


New Skills:

Steady Footing - if they are knocked down on a 6+ they remain standing
Eye Gouge - prevents a player from providing an assist

2 new spike magazines coming one for Brets, one for Khmeri

other teams
The rule book includes rejigged rosters for every team in the game

It probably means it ends your turn, not action. (or actually, action also.)

Thanks for the news, Garion, much appreciated!
Secure the ball Action and Brawler on Tomb Guardians are both huge boosts for Tomb Kings.
Secure the ball seems too good on a 2+, a +1 to the pick up roll would have been enough, I think.
I don't like no Peasants on Bretonnian team, it's bad for the fluff.
What about multi rr? Is it still in the rules?

It looks very cool, and I'm very happy to see officous refs go, and wildy inaccurate too. Like Matt, I suspect Secure the Ball is a game changer for many teams, and I believe will change strategies for receiving teams considerably. I'm not sure I like the idea but let's see.

Very excited to see what else is in store.

it's due to a kickoff result. presumably something that's replacing the officius ref

"Distracted" is a status
it's when a player lost their tacklezones and therefore skills, due to bonehead or Gaze. They've presumably added the terminolgy to make it easier to understand that no tz = no skills



Chomped, i wonder if this is a debuff that Mouth will apply. Which is a bit annoying to need to have the marker or remember

Also "you can even now earn Star Player Points from throwing your team-mates and being thrown"

Secure the ball is very good for Chaos Dwarfs, Bull Centaurs picking the ball up on a 2+ since game 1.

So you can pickup on a 2+ but then are stuck there. Also can't pass or handover because Secure is an Action itself

Being able to get pickup on 2+ is strong, particularly as it doesn't mention tacklezones or Rain.

You have to be 2 squares away from an opposing player, thus no Tackle zone can affect the 2+ pick up roll.
If there is a Tackle zone then you are too close to use Secure the ball.
Maybe rain could (I hope so).
So, there is already a bad rule, 2+ is too good. A +1 modifier with a greater square range from opposing players (6 squares or a bit less so) would have been better.

There are restrictions.. it mentions big guys cant do it. But it could be St4+ cant, it could be limited to throwers and runners only... I just dont know..

I think this change will mean kicking short (with Kick) is often going to be the better tactic

Ideally, Secure the ball should be an Action only allowed if the player has Sure Hands. That would make sense logically.
