I think they're referring to cage diving...

In lrb4 and lower Stand Firm was a trait and aside from its normal stand Firm function it also meant if you failed a Dodge you wouldn't fall over and it would be be a turn over. This meant some times a blitzer would try and Dodge into a cage and hit the ball carrier

Steady Footing is a nod to that. Now though the player can continue their action on a 6+ ... (16.67% chance) if they fail a Dodge. So I think it's referring to that kinda play.

The mismatch of rosters vs GW's team box contents is horrible and pushes ppl towards 3rd party 3D printing, so it'd make sense.
And yes, I'd missed the 'rejigging' mention and yes it also sounds like dread

Lets say they just crush all the 0-4 down to 0-2, it'd affect:

Undead ghouls
Dark elf blitzers
Wood elf catchers
High elf catchers
Elven union catchers
Orc blitzers
Orc big uns
Chaos chosen blockers (u get 4 in the box)
Chaos dwarf blockers (u get 4 in the box)
Human blitzers
Human catchers
Human halflings are 0-3, but u get 0 in the box
Imperial bodyguards (u get 4 in the box)
Khorne khorngors
Khorne bloodseekers (u get 4 in the box)
Nurgle pestigors
Nurgle bloaters (u get 4 in the box)
Skaven gutters
Tomb king guardians
Underworld clanrats are 0-3, and u get 3 in the box


The GW photos of the new Tomb Kings team do show 4x distinct Guardians, in 2 poses

Probably orcs, DE, humans, skaven suffer the most there. rest of it not so bad

I could definitely see this happening

3 of my top 5 favourite races are Humans, Orcs, and Skaven so I'm understandably perturbed!

Ogres only have 4 Ogres in their box, right? I think 2 Ghoul Undead would be pretty sad as well.

I'd have to assume that things like Assassins, Bull Centaurs, and Goblin Secret Weapons would stay as they have a booster pack

I can't see them doing this.

Based on the info they've provided the two in box rosters are both pretty strong.

Khemri are stronger than they currently are because the team's the same only TGs get brawler.

Brets have
0-16 Squires - that have Wrestle
0-2 thrower Knights - Dauntless, Pass, Nerves of Steel
0-2 Catcher Knights - Dauntless, Catch, Nerves of Steel
0-2 Blitzer Knights - Dauntless, Steady Feet, Probably Block

These are pretty strong rosters... therefore I do not think they will be nerfing the hell out of the existing teams....

It is possible they'll adjust teams in line with what you get in the box. And then like Necromunda (they are the same studio as Blood Bowl) release expansion boxes with 6 players in to make up the new player types found on certain rosters. Or just plug the gaps.

I dont think they'll be doing anything with the most recently released teams (in terms of reducing positions)... CDs, Gnomes, Vamps, as those boxes are complete

That's interesting. But thinking about Humans, if they went that route... what if they gave throwers MA 7, so you'd want both, and if they gave the catchers ST 3...

I mean depending on the route you go, you could make an interesting competitive team with just that box without breaking it.

I'd do something similar with Orcs. Make the throwers MA 6, Give the Big Uns starting Brawler. Their Lineman are already great.

Depending how you rejigger the roster you could make them work.
