So lindisfarne needs wins against necropolis and saphery to get a playoff spot. Will those teams play spoiler to lindisfarne's party?

The Necropolis Priest Kings almost did half the work, coming close to tying at the end of the game, but a team-high 8(!) casualties by the Lindisfarne Midnight Sons let them hang on (narrowly) to a 1-0 Sons' victory.

That puts Lindisfarne up by 2 over the Kansas Raptors with only 1 game each to play. The 6W-4T-3L Raptors own the second tie-breaker (by head-to-head TD diff), so they must win against the 5W-3T-3L Smackers (still to play their #13 v. the Tangueros) to put any pressure on the 'Sons, who control their own fate in the Division and now can lock up the Division title with a Game 16 tie vs. the 2W-4T-6L Saphery Poets (and their 580k in inducements!).

Dude, how have you given up only one touchdown in the last six games? That's impressive defence there.

The 8 CAS performance puts Lindisfarne into the overall CAS lead by 1, but Butte still has 2 games left to play. With regen we can cas the same Khemri over and over.

A quiet weekend, and Smeat made my job even easier with a recap of his own. Here are your latest game reports.

Week 12
AWC North vs. AWC South

Vancouver Rot-Nucks 2 - Joplin Disasters 0

Very large men crashed into each other in the centre of the field, with Morg 'n' Thorg joining the three Disaster big guys against the Rot-Nuck line. Joplin managed a 1d blitz on the ball on turn 2, but could not take him down. Vancouver used their reroll clearing the marker away, then their ball-carrier tried blitzing a path free, but hit Skull/Skull to KO himself. A Disaster snagged the ball briefly, but a Rot-Nuck dodged free to blitz him down and reclaim the ball. Joplin arranged a 2d blitz the turn after, but it was their turn for Skulls, and Vancouver moved the ball up. Dodges and GFIs gave Joplin another 2d, but Both Down/Skull only dropped the Disaster involved, and Vancouver got clear for 1-0 at the half. Joplin tried moving the ball around one side, but a blitzing Rot-Nuck took the ball-carrier - skaven renegade Cedric Vanpatten, who has been recently mentioned in the Weekly - down for a niggle, apo'd to MNG. The Disasters got the ball back but could not keep it safe, and Vancouver took their ball-carrier down again. Joplin had already burned through their rerolls, and inconsistent blocking and the usual big guy problems let Vancouver make a run for it. Morg was up for a footchase, KOing the ball-carrier and standing guard long enough for a Disaster to punt it downfield. Vancouver got it back and made the distance up, screening. Morg blew through the screen, niggling Star warrior Hank, but the ball-carrier got free for the final score of 2-0.

Week 13
NWC North vs. NWC South

Tamper Bay Baconeers 3 - Cleveland Children 0

Tamper Bay moved up near one sideline, using Stunty dodges to surf a couple Children, but losing players themselves. They held their cage in place beside a rooted tree for several turns, finally running in on turn 7, making GFIs to score on turn 8. Really Stupid kept Cleveland from trying a OTT. Cleveland moved the ball up in the second half, but got bogged down by the Tamper Bay trees, ending a couple turns on failed hits against them. The Children finally got one down, but the other took out their ball-carrier, the Baconeers made off with the ball for another touchdown. The Children finally got their CAS groove on, but with their thrower out and their rerolls stoled, failed a pickup, and Tamper Bay threw a halfling in to grab the ball and take off. He was downed at the goal-line, but another 'fling was lobbed into the area a turn later to collect the ball and score for 3-0. As a note, the Baconeers are now 5-1-1 since joining the league - the third best win-percentage in the NWFL. It will be interesting to see what they can do next season with a full schedule.

NWC East vs. NWC West

Lindisfarne Midnight Sons 1 - Necropolis Priest Kings 0

Smeat has provided an excellent recap in his match report, although I'm not sure "getrfv" is a word. Go read that, and enjoy!

Hoo boy. Nobody has more than two games left to play, and in some cases the standings are still very wide open. Let's take a look.

AWC

DW1: Argentinian Caudillos (7-5-0) - 19 points
DW2: Argentine Noldorins (6-3-3) - 15
DW3: Essen Exsanguinators (7-2-4) - 16
DW4: Vancouver Rot-Nucks (7-0-5) - 14
WC1: Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers (5-5-2) - 15
WC2: Alethkar Shard Warriors (4-6-2) - 14

Just out: Surrey Serpents (5-3-4), North West Walking Brawls (5-4-4)
Further out: Detroit Delvers (4-4-4)

The Caudillos have almost locked in the AWC East. A single point for them or from Winchester will finalize that, so the Wrongdoers need to win Week 13 and hope that Alethkar can hand Argentina their first loss of the season in order for their Week 14 game to be live. If that doesn't happen, Winchester will be fighting to claim a wild-card slot, along with outside contender North West.

The Argentine Noldorins haven't dropped a point since the midseason break, and have advanced into the DW2 spot, currently claiming a first-round playoff bye. The critical moment for the South is upon them, with a match against the second-place Delvers in Week 13. A win or tie guarantees the Noldorins the division, with the win going a long way to securing the bye; a loss, on the other hand, opens the door for Detroit (currently three points back) to knock them out of the playoffs altogether.

In the West, Essen currently sits on top of the win percentage, but Alethkar is the team in the driver's seat, as wins in their remaining games will put them on top of the division. Surrey could even win the division with a couple wins (including the Week 14 game against Essen) and a little bad luck for Alethkar, and even if they don't, two wins would guarantee them into the playoffs. Every game matters in the East right now.

The North, unfortunately, has basically already been decided. While Los Angeles looks to be within striking distance of Vancouver, the Reapers have already received their forfeit win from the absent Colorado Chipmunks, while the Rot-Nucks don't play them until Week 14. If we count the points from that, Vancouver will have the division locked up, leaving LA out in the cold.

NWC

DW1: White Rock Midnight (10-1-1) - 21 points
DW2: Nehekhara Guardians (10-0-3) - 20
DW3: Lindisfarne Midnight Sons (8-2-3) - 18
DW4: Green Back Smackers (6-3-3) - 15
WC1: Butte Kickers (8-2-3) - 18
WC2: New York Rats (6-3-3) - 15

Just out: Kansas Raptors (6-4-3), St. Luna Cardiac Cardinals (5-4-3)

Two weeks out, White Rock has already locked in both the NWC South division win and a playoff bye. Beneath them, New York and St. Luna will meet this week to determine the number one contender for the last wild-card slot. New York has the advantage, and will maintain it in case of a tie, but a win from either team is horrible for the other one.

Butte has already taken down Nehekhara in Week 13 to keep hope alive for a division win, although they need both a win and a Guardian loss in Week 14 to make that dream a reality. Either way, Nehekhara is locked in to a playoff slot, and Butte very nearly so.

A similar state of affairs exists in the East, with Kansas hoping for Lindisfarne to stumble in their last regular-season game. The Raptors have the tiebreaker on the Midnight Sons, so a loss from Lindisfarne coupled with a win from Kansas would give them the division. The 'Sons would probably still get a wild-card slot if that happens, while Kansas is also in the running for an at-large berth if they win their last round. The Green Back Smackers, finally, are locked in to the West championship, but out of a potential playoff bye.

recaps recaps recaps

Week 12
NWC North vs. NWC South

St. Luna Cardiac Cardinals 3 - Har Ganeth Korsairs 2

St. Luna moved in, removing one Korsair from the game. A return blitz surfed a Cardiac Cardinal, but left the witch elf trying that on the edge of the field herself. St. Luna went for her, but only hit Both Down/Both Down for a stun. An early fireball knocked down a couple Cardinals, and Har Ganeth took down the ball-carrier on a 1d, taking the ball themselves. They moved forward the next turn and screened. St. Luna took out more Korsairs, but the 5+ blitz attempt into the cage failed, and Har Ganeth stalled. More dodge/blitz attempts from St. Luna failed, but a Korsair Skulled a 2d after their rerolls ran out, and St. Luna took down the ball-carrier. Har Ganeth successfully made rolls to dodge twice, pick up, avoid the interception, pass, and catch to score on turn 7. St. Luna smashed more Korsairs, drawing the apo to keep one around, but that still only left Har Ganeth seven players for the second half. They lost another quickly, but got the ball in deep. St. Luna blitzed the ball-carrier down, but the bounce was good for Har Ganeth, and they made dodge/pickup/GFI/GFI to score for 2-0. St. Luna got the ball on turn 3 of the second half, moving it forward fast with their werewolves, and survived a 1d blitz to score the turn after with the senior wolf, Otis. More injuries left only three Korsairs on the field, and the first one to act dodged successfully but failed the pickup. He was quickly surrounded, but dodged to the edge of the field to grab the ball a turn later. He was surfed, and the fans threw the ball in towards Har Ganeth's end zone, letting St. Luna tie the game on turn 6. High Kick gave a Korsair the ball deep in his own territory, and he retreated to the corner on turn 8, offering the surf. St. Luna accepted, and the ball bounced short, letting Otis collect the ball to win the game. Otis was voted MVP afterwards, giving him an amazing 18 SPP on the game - the MVP, two CAS, and all three team touchdowns.

AWC North vs. AWC South

Argentine Noldorins 1 - Nocturne Falls Honey Badgers 0

Argentina hit and moved in. They used stat-freak Fernando Fingon to MNG Honey Badger stat-freak Emmitt Stiff on the third turn, but failed a catch while trying to transfer the ball. Nocturne Falls marked, but had ended up on the wrong side of some damage, and couldn't get a player to try the pickup. Argentina got the ball back, inflicting another CAS but failing another pass. The Noldorins failed a pickup on turn 7, then a pass on turn 8, and the half ended with no scoring. A Blitz put the Noldorins in near the ball. Nocturne Falls got possession, but lost their other ghoul to another MNG, and Argentina grabbed the ball and took off, scoring on turn 2. The Noldorins got another Blitz, but the ball was aimed at Nocturne Falls' Legend Reggie Wight on the front lines, and he caught it. He was quickly surrounded, but punched his way back to safety, and the Honey Badgers caged around him before moving in. He got into the offensive zone on turn 6, but a no-reroll dodge/GFI/GFI/-2d blitz found Pow and Pow/Push to KO him. Nocturne Falls tried sending their other wight back to grab the ball instead of risking an AG2 pickup, but when that failed they had nobody left in scoring position.

AWC East vs. AWC West

Surrey Serpents 1 - Alethkar Shard Warriors 1

Surrey grabbed the ball and moved in. A clump of five Serpents drew an early fireball, but that only knocked down one and didn't break armour, and a GFI to blitz failed due to snow. Surrey moved in slowly, but a failed dodge let Alethkar 4+ dodge in and KO the ball-carrier, with their other wolf following after to collect the ball. Surrey took him down and reclaimed the ball in one TZ, but then failed a dodge. Hired star Wilhelm Chaney CAS'd a Serpent, and Alethkar got the ball back, but the pass forward ate their reroll and the catch was dropped. Surrey got the ball back, but the Shard Warriors again took down the ball-carrier, and the pass worked this time, getting a wight clear with the ball for 1-0 at the half. The sequence did cost Alethkar their last flesh golem, though, problematic due to a lack of treasury. The Serpents stole a jump in the second half with a Blitz, but failed a dodge with a skink for Badly Hurt. Alethkar transferred the ball to a wight to run forward, but he failed a GFI in the snow to KO himself, and Surrey took possession, running the ball back to score on turn 3. All of the KOs - one Serpent, four Shard Warriors - stayed out, giving Surrey an 8-7 edge on manpower. Alethkar moved the ball back initially, but it was blitzed anyway. They kept possession for a turn, moving it forward, but Surrey stole it a turn later. A Shard Warrior blitzed it free, KOing the ball-carrier, but then KO'd himself while attempting to dodge free and grab the ball. A Serpent grabbed the ball on their turn 6, but was taken down for a stun. The Shard Warrior doing the hit caught the ball out of the air, but was out of range of the end zone. He was downed in turn, and with the Alethkar goal line out of reach, Surrey just marked the ball. Alethkar could not find the miracle dice to score.

Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers 1 - North West Walking Brawls 1

Winchester collected the ball. North West's senior wight - Dana Wight - blitzed in with Frenzy/POMB, but Winchester wasted little time in fouling her for a KO. The Wicked Wrongdoer ball-carrier ran the ball around one side before being downed by a lightning bolt. A Walking Brawl made it to the ball and passed it back to a ghoul, but he was in turn taken down, and his attempt to grab the ball back the next turn failed. A hit from Winchester killed the last remaining original Walking Brawl, Zomb Selleck, but North West still made it back to the ball first. Their ball-carrier was trapped against the sideline, though, and Diving Tackle ruined his escape attempt. Winchester stalled on turn 7, but a Both Down/Skull hit with a mummy kept North West from trying to stop the score. North West started to figure out the Wrongdoer armour, CASing one on turn 8 and two more to start the second half. A rerolled GFI and then Both Down/Both Down on a hit ended North West's second turn prematurely, but Winchester was having problems capitalizing, and an alert ref put them down foulers on consecutive turns. The Walking Brawls moved the ball into scoring distance, but elected to stall rather than score on turn 5. Winchester put a Diving Tackle Wrongdoer on the ball-carrier, but he was stunned. The marker a turn later was also scraped off, and North West scored on turn 7. Pitch Invasion took down multiple players from both teams. Winchester got players into possible scoring distance, but failed rolls while handling the ball to end the game a draw.

Argentinian Caudillos 2 - Stone City SkullCrushers 1

Stone City started with a 2d Skull/Skull from Morg 'n' Thorg, electing not to risk Loner. Argentina ran in. The SkullCrusher thrower fell back to grab the ball, but the forward pass was dropped, and Argentina collected it on the sideline. Stone City sent in a fireball, taking down three Caudillos and freeing the ball, but failed a dodge before doing much else. Argentina got the ball back, but snaked a catch. Stone City made the pickup, but failed another dodge, and Argentina grabbed the ball and scored. A misclick dodge ended Stone City's next turn, but they made a forward pass and catch a turn later, running the ball into scoring distance. The chase from Argentina snaked a GFI, and Stone City evened the game on turn 8. Argentina couldn't manage a OTT. The Caudillos engaged in some brutality in the second half, removing five SkullCrushers from the field on their first three turns, and getting the ball clear. The remaining SkullCrushers were unable to break free to chase for a while, and Argentina stalled until turn 8 before taking the game 2-1.

Week 13
NWC North vs. NWC South

Butte Kickers 2 - Nehekhara Guardians 0

Nehekhara laid money out of petty cash to be able to afford a bribe instead of a Babe. Butte started on offence, and both sides hit and fouled, the bribe only lasting until turn 2, and a skeleton being ejected on turn 3, with no real damage to show for it. A Kicker got the ball to the goal-line on turn 4. AG3 blitz-ra Sekhef made it to him on a blitz, but that only found a Skull. Butte stalled, removing Guardians from the field. A 1d Frenzy blitz also failed to get the ball free, and Butte took the lead on turn 8 after killing a Veteran tomb guardian. Nehekhara was outmanned for the second half, and fell back with the ball. A foul with an Emerging Star tomb guardian signalled either desperation or a desire to get him to safety; either way, snakes took him out of the game with no damage caused. Nehekhara moved the ball up, punting it forward, but the remaining Guardians were surrounded. A -2d block fail from Nehekhara only accelerated the process of removing Guardians from the field, and Butte collected the ball, keeping the last two opposing players on the turf while they took their second score.

AWC East vs. AWC West

Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers 2 - Slann Frogcisco 49ers 0

Slann Frogcisco's initial hits left more 49ers than Wicked Wrongdoers on the ground. They failed the pickup on turn 2, then their apo could not prevent a perm on another blitzer. The only silver lining Slann Frogcisco could take from the next turn was that the foul that Badly Hurt their POMBer also ejected the Wrongdoer doing the kicking. Winchester took out the Slann Frogcisco ball-carrier, but failed the pickup. A 49er got to the ball, but failed a Leap away, and Winchester took possession. The chainsaw blitz couldn't get through the ball-carrier's armour. Winchester took a turn to hit before moving the ball up. The -2d Strip Ball blitz on turn 7 couldn't find Pushes, and Winchester got the defensive TD. Winchester moved the ball up in the second half, and Slann Frogcisco never managed better than a -2d blitz before the Wrongdoers made it 2-0. Bad KO rolls left only five 49ers to take the field, but three of them moved the ball forward into a sideline cage. Wrongdoers swarmed the area, and Diving Tackle stopped the attempted score. Winchester took the time to farm passes for SPP before the game ended.

North West Walking Brawls 2 - Essen Exsanguinators 1

Perfect Defence moved Exsanguinators over near the ball's landing zone. North West CAS'd thralls with their first two hits, and another with their blitz, grabbing the ball. Essen killed an Emerging Star ghoul in return. The Exsanguinators blitzed the ball-carrier on consecutive turns, popping the ball free on the second, but it was caught on the bounce by a nearby Walking Brawl, and North West made rolls to get him free and into the end zone. Essen ran players in fast. North West blitzed through to mark the ball-carrier, but he dodged free and passed forward. Essen stalled, surviving one 1d blitz, but a second one found a Pow to free the ball. The pickup was dropped, though, and Essen got the ball back. A final 1d blitz only turned up a Skull, and the Exsanguinators evened the game at the half. Essen had problems moving up, with two vamps tied up near the centre of the field and another taken down for a stun. They finally passed forward, avoiding the intercept, and used AG5 to dodge through. North West found Pows on a 2d blitz to take out the ball-carrier, and the ball was crowded into the open. A Walking Brawl retrieved it, but a handoff failed. Essen tried bringing in their vamps, but two of them failed Blood Lust through Pro, having to fall back to snack. The last vampire failed Blood Lust as well, rerolling that, then Skulled a 2d blitz. North West transferred the ball forward, scoring on turn 6. Essen had two turns to try to score, but the Walking Brawls got a Blitz, taking down an Exsanguinator and moving into contact. One Exsanguinator got just into scoring range, but then was pushed back out to ensure the win for North West.

The season rumbles towards a close. Here are the latest NWFL recaps!

Week 13
AWC North vs. AWC South

Buenos Aires Titans 4 - Joplin Disasters 0

Joplin started punching, but failed two pickups in the Rain, and a Titan was the first to get the ball. Joplin knocked him down, but another Titan made the pickup the next turn, and a failed 2d block and Loner let Buenos Aires score. More Titans left the game, but dodges and GFIs allowed a 2d hit on the Disaster ball-carrier. He was Pushed next to the Buenos Aires tree, who knocked him down, and a Titan stole the ball. He was downed the turn after, but Buenos Aires landed a blitz and got a great bounce to retrieve the ball, scoring again on turn 8. Buenos Aires got the 2nd half kick, moving in fast. They lost a player to a surf, but their wardancers moved the ball away. A Disaster caught up and took the ball. A Titan reclaimed it, but failed a GFI. Joplin got the ball in their own end zone, but fumbled the pass forward, and Buenos Aires took down the only nearby Disaster and scored. Joplin moved in, but fumbled another pass, and Titans got into the area. Joplin wasn't able to pick the ball up, and Buenos Aires could, handing it off and running for 4-0.

Vancouver Rot-Nucks 1 - Los Angeles Reapers 0

It took Los Angeles three tries for their skilled bull centaur, Oric the Metal Rider, to collect the ball, with both teams losing players. A 1d took Oric down to free the ball. He picked it back up, but failed a GFI to Badly Hurt himself. Both teams failed pickups from there on, with the ball only ever bouncing into the arms of a player who had already acted, and the ball stayed at the line of scrimmage until the half ended. Vancouver moved the ball up, inflicting some damage in the process. The Reaper fireball only knocked one Rot-Nuck over, and while Los Angeles got a blitz on the ball-carrier, he stayed up and moved back to the other side of the field. Los Angeles was forced to try a blocker dodge, and that failing guaranteed Vancouver the score.

AWC East vs. AWC West

Alethkar Shard Warriors 1 - Argentinian Caudillos 1

Alethkar caged and moved in. Argentina forced contact, managing to 2d the ball free a turn later, but the ball was reclaimed by a Shard Warrior and moved past most of the Caudillos. Argentina blitzed into contact with the ball-carrier. A Shard Warrior Skulled a block the next turn, and the ball-carrier hit a 1 on his dodge away. Argentina grabbed the ball and passed, but an interception gave it to one of Alethkar's wights, Dalinar Kholin IV. He handed off to a werewolf, but the new ball-carrier was blitzed down, and the ball bounced back to Dalinar. Alethkar tried to blitz him free, but found 1s on consecutive dodges instead, and Argentina knocked him down and stole the ball. Alethkar pulled the trigger on their wizard, Badly Hurting the ball-carrier and taking down another nearby Caudillo as well, but they failed the pickup. Argentina Skulled a blitz, though, and Alethkar was able to clear the Caudillos out of the way, making rolls to pickup, pass, and catch to score. Argentina moved in in the second half, but failed the turn 1 pickup. Shard Warriors moved in, but the dodge to mark a Caudillo near the ball failed. Argentina did some hitting, BHing a Star ghoul and killing a zombie that had just been recruited from them that game, and then collected the ball, using Nerves of Steel to move it up. Alethkar moved back to defend, but Argentina steadily removed the dangerous Shard Warriors, stalling until turn 8 before taking the draw.

Week 14
NWC East vs. NWC West

Necropolis Priest Kings 2 - Hollywood Roundup Gang 2

The Roundup Gang moved in fast, taking a two-turn touchdown. Necropolis caged and moved in. Hollywood's tree failed rolls to become ineffectual, and their wizard went 0-for-4, but the ticking clock forced the Priest Kings to move forward, and their ball-carrier was taken down on a 2d blitz. Hollywood fumbled a pass, though, and Necropolis took the ball back. The Roundup Gang surrounded the ball-carrier on turn 8, but a chainpush and a downed Ganger freed him to tie the game. Necropolis set up in the second half, but their second hit found three Both Downs, rerolled into Both Down/Skull/Skull. Gangers raced into the backfield. The second Priest King turn did little better for them, with a misclick dodge preventing them from getting into position, and Hollywood stole the ball for 2-1. The Priest Kings got possession and moved in. Hollywood harried them, but suffered for it with an Emerging Star wardancer - the healthy one - killed through apo. A desperation -2d from Hollywood couldn't spring the ball, and Necropolis tied the game on turn 8. This game put the cap on a Hollywood season that saw them have a casualty differential of -54.

AWC East vs. AWC West

Argentinian Caudillos 2 - Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers 1

Winchester killed a Caudillo on the line to open the game - but really, once you're up to iteration VII of a given name, you kind of have to expect that. The Wicked Wrongdoers grabbed the ball, but their ball-carrier was quickly surrounded by three Side Steppers. Argentina took him down the next turn, making a 3+ pickup and dodging free to score. Winchester missed one pickup before moving in. Argentina tried a blitz on the ball-carrier, but snaked a Leap. Winchester got up to midfield, then past the turn after. Argentina managed to Wrestle the ball-carrier down before turn 8, but the Wrongdoers made the pickup to even the game, maiming a couple more Caudillos on the way. Argentina moved in in the second half, screening along one sideline, but a failed dodge caused another serious injury, this time to an AG5 lino. The Caudillos took their second TD without rolling more dice. Winchester's causalties finally turned to Badly Hurts, with three coming in quick succession. Argentina still got the ball away from the Wicked Wrongdoers once, but their ball-carrier was taken out quickly. A turn 6 pickup failed, though, and the handover a turn later missed a dodge. The pass on the last turn also could not get through, and Argentina took the game, though at great cost: two unskilled linos gone from the team, and three with nine skills between them either permed or MNG'd - injuries which will keep them out of the team's first playoff game.

I'm trying to write up a list of the different playoff scenarios - who makes it in at what levels if who wins. And it's hard. I mean, take a look at what I just wrote for the Surrey Serpents:

Quote:
Surrey Serpents: Get the AWC West with a win against Essen. Get a wild-card slot with a draw, unless North West wins with at least three more total TDs than Surrey gets -AND- Detroit wins -AND- the Argentine Noldorins win or draw. Get a wild-card slot with a loss if North West draws or loses -AND- Detroit draws or loses or Argentina loses.

Now I'm trying to do North West and there's like eight different contingencies, where they might make it if X happens but not if Y happens, unless exactly one of Q and Q' happen... it's a bit ridiculous.

Probably just going to end up doing a normal standings post, 'cause this is a lot less useful than I thought it would be. I think I can do better using plain English.

As promised - your look at standings, with words instead of scenarios.

AWC

DW1: Argentinian Caudillos (8-6-0) - 22 points
DW2: Vancouver Rot-Nucks (9-0-5) - 18
DW3: Essen Exsanguinators (7-2-4) - 16
DW4: Argentine Noldorins (6-3-4) - 15
WC1: Winchester Wicked Wrongdoers (6-5-3) - 17
WC2: Surrey Serpents (6-3-4) - 15

Just out: North West Walking Brawls (5-4-4), Detroit Delvers (5-4-4)

Argentina has locked in the top overall spot, and will have a playoff bye, like it or not - they have a lot of MNGs from their last game of the regular season. Winchester, below them in the East, has locked in not only a wild-card berth, but specifically WC1 - meaning that they will take on DW4 in the first round of the playoffs, with the winner facing the Caudillos. It's almost like the Wrongdoers were extra-violent with the Caudillos on purpose...

Vancouver has guaranteed that they are the king in the North, but are still waiting to find out if that title will come with a playoff bye. The only team that can catch them is Essen, but the Exsanguinators face a heavy challenge to get there in Surrey. A win by Essen will give them the West and DW2, and leave Surrey hoping for some specific match results to leave them a wild-card slot. A draw will give Essen the division, and Surrey will take WC2 - again, unless some very specific match results occur. A win by Surrey, on the other hand, will give them the division, and leave Essen on the outside hoping that North West can't catch up.

The AWC South is the Noldorins' if they can get at least as many points as the Delvers - a win locks them in, a draw will do it if Detroit draws or loses, and a loss will suffice if Detroit also loses. Detroit obviously is hoping for the opposite to happen. Both teams have odds to make it in as a wild-card if they do well but the other does better, but the specific scenarios for those depend on the outcome of the West's championship race, as well as the last team in contention - North West. The Walking Brawls have to win to have any shot at taking a wild-card slot, and even then things are far from clear. They have more TDs than either team from the South, and the heads-up tiebreaker on Essen, but Surrey has the breaker on them. In the end, all they can do is win and hope.

NWC

DW1: White Rock Midnight (10-2-2) - 22 points
DW2: Nehekhara Guardians (10-0-3) - 20
DW3: Lindisfarne Midnight Sons (8-2-3) - 18
DW4: Green Back Smackers (7-3-3) - 17
WC1: Butte Kickers (9-2-3) - 20
WC2: New York Rats (7-3-3) - 17

Just out: Kansas Raptors (6-4-3)

Two of the divisional races have been decided already in the NWC. White Rock locked up the South a while ago, and the Midnight have now headed off for a vacation before the playoffs. The other guaranteed title is Green Back's - they have the West, and with no chance of a bye are just biding time until the wild-card round.

In the North, Nehekhara has the lead at the moment, but the Kickers have as many points as them and the tiebreaker. A win or draw from the Guardians' final game will give them the division and the bye. A loss, on the other hand, will leave Butte with the division win, although not necessarily the bye - there is one other team that has something to say about that.

The East is yet to be decided - a win or draw by Lindisfarne will give them the championship; the win would also put them into contention for the playoff bye, should Butte take the North. With no heads-up games between the two, it would come down to tiebreakers, and the Midnight Sons would pass the Kickers if they score at least two touchdowns in the win, or if they inflict at least 8 CAS, or if they inflict 7 CAS, at least one of which is an RIP. On the other hand, if Lindisfarne loses, Kansas can take the division with a win, as they hold the breaker on the Midnight Sons. A win would also give them a shot at a wild-card slot should Lindisfarne improve their own position, but again, there is one more team that needs to be mentioned. The New York Rats are the team currently holding that wild-card spot, and they would need to lose to relinquish their grip on a post-season berth.
