Perfect, I managed to login via my mobile and I am therefore nowak independent of my PC.

I wonder why so many sneaky little gits vote for Thorpe. All of you voting for him are prio one targets to be de-hatted.

why?....every first day vote has a ridiculous bandwagon...and how many times is it legitimately headed by bad guys?

then again, maybe thorpe's a bad guy, and you're trying to protect him from getting slaughtered the first day....

*adds another name to the suspicion list*

Might be that I am bad, good or with special powers. A heavy bandwagon on only one character does help only the bad guys, thats for sure. Best for us the good is two havel multiple guys on the list equally divided votes on them. Based on flipping votes its then more easy to find the bad guys.

Bear in mind that all of us should be a candidate pretty soon to see the behaviour.
The longer the goblins can hide the worse for the gnomes.

a heavy bandwagon on day one doesn't help the bad guys.....

day one in itself helps the bad guys because we have nothing to go on, and are flailing in the dark....

better to have a bandwagon and burn one person, than be indecisive and burn multiple...

Hmm.. Bandwagon on Thorpe is bad, but atm. I doubt you will find many goblins in that lot (1 might hide there though, and since plorg started it we have no info on him)

I'm going to aim at another target...(/me thinks, then counts... then thinks again)

Well, then its time to equalize and decide later:

Un-unhat shadow

unhat sillysod

Btw, I never said we should unhat two on day one but said only to unhat one after we puth two in doubt and had hopefully one goblins on the list. A third target would be event better.

If shadow has understood the point correctly, then he is terribly off-base of a goblin. At this point I believe it is more likely that he misunderstood.

A heavy bandwagon on day one gives us no information, since the evils can hide in the wagon quite safely, or stay outside, without raising suspicion.

If we get no information on day one, we have very little on the second day as well. We don't want to flail in the dark longer than day one, do we?

The point in having multiple bandwagons (preferrably two or three, three might be best), is to put several people under the threat of de-hatting. It doesn't mean we will kill multiple, it just means we have more than one possible target. This could result in some interesting vote shifts (meaning we get useful info). If the evils shift the votes to create a multi-kill, we can vote them off for such behaviour.

My vote follows this reasoning:
De-hat SillySod

To put him in a tie with Thorpe. It's still early, so it will be fairly easy to break the tie (to avoid multi-kill).

Multiple targets on day one reduces the chance of hitting a villain from ~5% to ~.5%. This is because, in game after game, villains have been able to sneakily manipulate the swirling eddies of votes to protect their own (when necessary) and allow us to kill ourselves. The supposed benefits are that you can divide the group by who voted for the victim, the non-victim, the extra choices, who switched their votes and how and when, etc. etc. Then again, it would be easy for a villain to say "I'm changing my vote to switch the target to see who jumps over" and actually be protecting is own. Of course, having on great bandwagon simply keeps your chances at ~5% and creates only three divisions: bandwagoners, loners, and abstainers.
