If BOBs are undercosted at 80k then what does that make Chaos Warriors? 100k for +1 AG, +1 movement AND mutation access. |

chaos warriors aren't bad either but , at lower levels, a BOB with block will be more useful than a chaos warrior, they only start to shine later. At higher TVs. |

Ghouls at 16 spp are the most effective mix in the game IMO. Block, dodge, side step 7337 for 110k... awesome stuff
Human lino's are pretty awesome too, everyone forgets them.
Zon lino's are definetly up there
Gutter Runners are crazy good for their cost too.
Used to be zombies though till they got expensive |

Good call on the Ghoul here, they get little love but are indeed the most efficient players on their teams. The Werewolves get all the attention in spite of being horribly expensive as rookies. |

Same stats, same cost but very different skill access which decreases their value for similar skills (since normal skills only count for 20k each). |

Dark Elf Blitzer and Trolls are also pretty cost efficient. Also Elf thrower is the best bargain for a thrower: just 10K extra over the lineman cost for Pass skill. |

Underworld Blitzer. It's like a beastman/marauder but comes with block to start, so much better setup once you hit that 5thskill, pre legend gap. Just happen to have a bad team around such efficient killers. |

While the team as a whole isn't all that cost efficient(casualties), Goblins have a good amount of players that are very cost effective.
On-roster chainsaws for 40k, skill-able B&Cs at 70k and a decent leaper at at 70k. Trolls and gobbos aren't bad, but they don't shine until they're skilled, and often never survive to get them. The chainsaws are recyclable and don't need skills, B&C's get VERY nasty after 2-3 skills and the pogoer is quite nice after 1-2 skills (although never wardancer good).
Looney's are really my pick for the best value for your money in the entire league, goblin roster or not. You don't need to skill them, if they die they're cheap to replace, and they actually have a fairly nice survival rate due to the secret weapons rules (they won't be on-field for long). They do one thing, do it well and they do it cheaply. BZZZZZZ-RIP.....
Free journeyman "best-of" goodness is another topic entirely, and could go to many teams depending on team setup/playstyle. |

The problem with stunty teams is G access and expensive rerolls. A rookie stunty vs nearly any team (except dwarves) should have a decent chance of winning because their opponents are usually just as incompetent as they are. This changes with time as they get stuck with mediocre skill choices while their opponents are not.
But yes, as teams without skills go, gobbos can compete. |

Problem with stunty is MB/PO/Blackle. They die so fast. If you team can account for that, you are fine. |

Yeah, I was really showing the best value player. It is still the Looney in my mind. Nothing beats a 40k chainsaw.
For the teams it would probably have to be Orcs (av9), humans(positionals but cheap), Dwarves (armour and good (free!) linemen), Amazons(blodge ahoy) or Norse(cheap block, everyone is a potential blitzer). They all have fairly handy positionals that don't need too much skilling, and they perform fairly well vs a variety of teams.
The undead teams also have the nice little regen+necro thing going for them. The players are a little pricy when skilled, but they are durable. Probably standard Undead for value/cash/TV comparisons.
I'm looking at running with a Norse passing team. Just for the hell of it really. |
