Too much bloat for me. Guard is great, but he is still st2. You are already fielding loners, probably best to trim for now.
Big difference between the danger at 1800TV and 1600TV.

The way I see it is this: if the Wood Elves (or anyone) had a 7/2/5/7 player, you'd buy him, right? Even if he was expensive?

You might buy him for 120-150k...but 230k? That's what he adds to the TV.

I feel like he'd approach 230k per game if he was a Star Player.

Thanks for the thoughts guys, especially useful was the comparison of Achilles to an equivalent star player... would I rent him for 230k inducement cash? Definitely.

Is spiraling expenses going to get me, especially with this expensive fellow? Also definitely. However, as of today I have enough cash to replace the missing wardancer, and I've got no other positional missing. That may change tomorrow, but today it is okay.

Humorously, no one else voted for my choice, which was to push him to a nice round 50 games and then retire. Clearly the sentiment is that I should keep him until he leaves the team as Nuffle intends, so that's how we'll proceed for now. We can re-assess after the next perm - and wouldn't it be fun if it were -MA again? I am also curious how the site might manage it.

Achilles now has a niggling injury and -1 strength as well. Has his time come to an end?

Yep, I'm a sentimentalist. I'd run him to legend, then retire pretty much whatever he rolls. Smile Legends are always good.

With his health failing, Achilles pressed on toward Legendary status. Match 66 brought yet another leg injury, and answered the question we all had about a player with -MA -MA -MA +MA - Fumbbl displayed him with MA6, but FFB calculated him to have MA7. Achilles wrote a bug report about it.

Finally, in match 69, Achilles scored his 37th touchdown and reached 176 spp. The crowd roared and he waved as he lined up for the last drive of the game, knowing his career was finally coming to a close. The dwarves fumbled the ball, and Achilles had his chance! Sadly, his weary legs failed him, and in the confusion he was blindsided by Peregrin Tuk. The apothecary rushed onto the pitch, but he could only confirm the obvious. The Legendary Achilles was dead. He was named MVP in his final match, a tribute to his many victories and his service Til the Death.

Had the pleasure of watching him play his final game live. A fitting end for this legend.
