Stop using that word competitive!!!!
Purplegoo might have a stroke or his mind might blow up...really bad stuff man.
That word has to many different meanings and is also based on a persons own perceptions or P.O.V. |

Now to think about it, open play is kinda hard to be competitive when all you can win is 1on1 matchup and then... nothing. You can then attend majors where you can actually win, but that is no longer open play but tournament play with teams from open play environment. Competitive is, like PainState said, kinda hard to define when you can get no outside-defined rewards.

I don't really see point in merging R and L because other is wide open play environment and the other is essentially for closed leagues. Or so I have understood it, never done any Fumbbl leagues. (I should) |

There is something I cannot wrap my brain around though.
So a merge happens..scheduler alongside the GF.
You are going to have a % of coaches who only will play in the scheduler format, box purists and the CPOMB horde.
You are going to have a % of coaches who only will play in the Pick format, the elf mirror match type guys or the uber picker types.
SO
Are those two groups going to compose over 40% of the player base in that Div? 50%? 20%?
What if it is 50%? so you have the other 50% having the time of our lives using both formats. The pick only and scheduler guys are having the time of their lives, especially the scheduler guys because now there is a chance at 12+ coach draws.
The picker only guys love it because they are probably only playing each other now with their stupid elf teams.
The picker only guys would not dare take the chance on the scheduler. The box purist would blanch at even thinking about picking a match up.
SO lets just say my quess of 50% of the coaches would play both formats is good. SO coaches who favor scheduler only format come unhinged at the other % of players who are having a fun time with out them using both formats?
The pick only guys could care less because their pool of coaches is still the pick only crowd and the tweener coaches who play both formats. So the only coaches who have had their boxers turned into competitive bikini thongs in rage are the scheduler only guys.
Do you honestly believe that a manicured pristine 2400 TV team is ever going to hit the scheduler? seriously? because according to a lot of coaches out there that 2400 TV team is only like that because they pick. Which puts them firmly in the PICK only group so they will not mess with the purity of the scheduler only crowd at all.
I think deep down the Box purists are more concerned about Box coaches defecting from the ranks to join the both formats crowd and that drives them nutz. |

you are forgetting the number rule of Blackbox, game to play anything.
There are problems with both divisions. Ranked the ability to choose your matches but still make your team attractive to be chosen.
Box make your team anyway you like because nobody can refuse you, yet take damage due to not being able to avoid games.
Time to pit the griefers vs the pickers. See who's best! |

I'd love to see this, the problem is that due to secret weapon rules, stunty has become pretty bespoke. If you can solve those problems, contact Whatball and I'm sure he'd be interested.
What I'd like to see though is making the Stunty rosters a little bit stronger and putting them in League to face normal races. This would negate the secret weapon problems some what. |
