2 ss/dt
2 sprint/sf (prefferrably +ag ones)
1 catch (high kick)
Dp on doubles
Retire everyone else

Is the recipe i'm trying.
Haven't had much luck, but struggling and learning...

The skill build procedure is simple:
- if the first skill up roll is either +MA, +AG or a double keep the Halfling and build him as ball carrier/1TTD player with Sure Feet, Sprint, etc.
- if the first skill up roll is a normal skill then fire the Halfling.
You really need +MA, +AG or a double before starting to add regular skills, since basic skills are not worth their cost on a MA 5 ST 2 AG 3 AV 6 Stunty player, you need a stat freak to perform the game changing miracle plays.

See, I would agree with this philosophy if you have built up enough of a bank that you can replace casualties and those who get normal skills. See, I would recommend you build a large bank account before you start firing 1-2 skill players.

Of course, you should ever have 16 players and enough gold in Treasury to replace at least one Treeman.

Fling victory theory centres around the two ST6 no-loner treemen and oneturn touchdowns.

Some observed keys to halfling success:

1. Dirty Player is absolutely amazing on halflings
2. Break Tackle is the best first normal skill on a treeman
3. Elves are a bad matchup. A few diving tackle helps, but not much
4. Your winning percentage goes up significantly if you can afford a chef
5. Pro isn't a good skill for treemen. They don't have loner
6. Move your treemen first, so you can reroll the take root, if needed
7. +AG flings are gold, and should be treated as such

Kam and Zed are your go-to guys for fling success. Flying Sammiches min-max hard, while Left My Heart are a bit more general in their approach.

You picked tackle instead of piling on, you should be ashamed of yourself. You can't see it but I am shaking my head in disgust. Three doubles and you wasted one on tackle. I am sad.

Edit: Tackle is 5th double after Frenzy. FFS!

Piling on comes next!
I needed tackle to beat up pesky elves with him!

Normal skill halflings may not be great but sacking on the first skill is extreme. 2 or 3 diving tackle halflings can save a defence if you don't lose a load too quickly and sprint/sure feet on a couple will certainly get you some more TDs.
For snotlings the conundrum is even worse as a normal roll doubles their price.
