There used to be a few different teams that were created back when the autokick bot could kick itself. So teams with 'wristful' in their names would cause the following dialogue:
<@Bowlbot> *** Wristful Limpers 0 vs 2 Hashuut Fatwa ***
@Bowlbot was kicked from #Fumbbl by @Bowlbot (Please mind your language)
Was all fun and games until Bowlbot stopped returning...

True story about the Fluffy Kittens and More:
I originally wanted them to be called "Pink Fluffy Panties and More". But you see... this was 2006. Back then, you had to create your team and submit it to be approved by an admin. Let's just say I didn't get my first choice of admins that day.

Of my own teams, I really liked Xocolatl Axolotl (Slann), but they were terrible and got retired. Shame... I generally like the "Place - Thing" format for team names: e.g. "Orcland Raiders" etc, and I tend to recycle a lot of places and mix up the names a lot. Of all of them I think I liked Birka Storm (Norse), Middenheim Compost-Bin (Nurgle) and Talabheim Meat-Hammer (Chaos Pact) the most. The first two are long retired, but Talabheim Meat-Hammer is still going strong. Crap record, mind you, but awesome fun team.
As regards other teams, I always thought Hellbound Charioteers was an incredible name, just brilliant. Terrifying Anarchists of Naggaroth also, although a lot of awe spills over from the team itself, inflating the name somewhat |
