Running an older macbook - but the refreseh didn't seem to change anything.
I did a full system restart, which then generated a download of application / progress bar as previously described by Kalimar as a potential cause of the issue when launching a test game. Still got the "wrong password" error - but expected from Kalimar's description. Closed it down.
Refreshed page again, launched a test game again with same team, loaded to the enter game name dialog box within seconds, still generated "wrong password" error. |
same scenario for me.. except HP instead of apple... java 7 |

Mmmh. I see the failed logins in the server log. Seems to be an authentication problem with the site. Need to contact Christer about this... |

you need Java 6 and over for the client to run properly.
As for authentication issues, man they suck.... I blame amazon |

If anyone needs to check their java version on mac do this:
1. Open the Terminal app
2. Type 'java -version' and press enter
3. You will get something like this: java version "1.6.0_65" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build etc.... |

Had another coach with the same problem trying to play me, they were using java 7. Not sure if that's anything to do with it. But thought I should stick it here.
update - he then updated to java8 and the same thing happened.
I'm using Java 6 and its working fine for me. Could this be something to do with the Jetty Library backwards compatibility stuff? |

@Garion: it works for you and me, so this is likely the restriction reactivated, that you need to be a member of the FFB Test group. Christer hotfixed this before, perhaps it is back? Haven't had the chance to talk to him, yet... |

Just don't release it before enough matches in open beta. |

I would go the other way, and just stick it live in Blackbox now. I have faith in the code |

Well with the lack of enthusiasm shown, that's going to be pretty difficult. It also shows that most people aren't overly worried. |

I'm worried. I'd love to play. I don't have a lot of time, but willing to help when and where I can.
However, I'm getting this authentication thing. Can't play, can't even start a game.
Have updated java. Have rebooted pc. Have rolled back java ver. Rebooted again. Nada, zip, zilch. Nothing even!
WANT TO PLAY |

If they don't get their new version for ages, I bet they will put more and more efforts in. |
