Albion Game 5 update - the race for post-season...

The first game 5 for the post-season is... a tie! (https://fumbbl.com/p/match?id=3574110) (and it looks like both the Goldlords and Frost U. took a beating!)

That puts the Goldords in #1 for now, and guarantees that they and the Expats are in the post-season, but leaves Frostheim United #3 and on the bubble. A Game 5 tie is good enough for the Expats to take the Division, but makes the #4 Pirates game "must win" against the spoiler Cripplers, as a tie leaves them out of post-season! Shocked

Well, that's it then for the Lumberjacks, no cup this season!

What really bugs me this season though is Anzelak's Wood elves, using the pardon to mess up my carefully chosen division and then never playing a single game.

+1

Even if RL was an excuse, that was incredibly weak, and on several levels, no doubt. It's messed up the entire division, cost 5 teams spp, and cost more than 1 team a better chance at post-season.
;(

The Icedragons miss their last chance for the cup by only managing a 1-1 draw against the Vagabons.

Even tho they scored easily against a non-existant defense in 1st half and get the ball loose when the Vagabonds are on offense, a mysterious row of failures in the most crucial of situations (no doubt vile and also highly illegal chaos magics behind this) deny them a well-deserved win. Well-deserved in Norse coach´s Winni opinion anyhoo, who said he will go to a some very lonely and desolate mountain cavern for seven days, spending this time without food, drink or sleep, doing nothing but grumbling to rewin the favor of the gods.

And Anzelak's absentee Jadefire screw with yet another final standings, as there is zero chance that the Predators can do anything but get the +2 TB point win to pass the 'Dragons to claim 3rd place (for the moment, at least) for the post-season.

<sigh>

And that means it's (almost) "must win" for the Pillars against Massif Orcal (or tie w/ a +4 Cas diff for +2 TB points).

Ach - upset city! The Expats lose, and fail to take the Division Title!

All they needed was a tie, but their blocking dice were as cold as the Norse blocking dice (and fouls) were hot, and casualty dice hotter, and 2 Sauri KO'd Turn 1 foretold the way this game would go. More Sauri and skinks were to follow, and the Expats saw only half their team on the field to end both halves, while the whole game just one single Norser was KO'd, and he woke right up. AV 7 ftw! Laughing

Grats to the Goldlords - no byes for Lizards this season, they'll have to go the long way. Crying or Very sad

One game remains with post-season implications, the Pillars/Massif Orcal matchup. Will the two lizard powerhouses face off in the post-season? Will the #3 Predators get bumped out? That game will decide the post-season fate of many teams...

Last game is planned for tomorrow night 20:00 server time.
As you said Smeat it is almost a must win for the Pillars if we want to access the cup else the spot will be for the Dark Land predators.

And the final game in Albion is scheduled for tonight at midnight bbtime.

Congratulations to the three conference winners: the Malice of Karond Kar, the Wasteland Vagabonds, and the Barak Varr Goldlords!

I'm looking forward to seeing this season's cup, and also the new-look Inter-Conference Shield competition, which should be fun. We'll probably be promoting the Malice early into Bretonnia's team to replace the absent Jadefire.

Yay! the pillars got to the cup!!!
Thot tot tot IV got a well deserved MVP (1TD and 2 casualties for 3 blocks only!!!) and trusted 12 of the 17 SPP earned.

In the first half tha pillars kicked but after a missed pass and a lucky bounce the ball was on their side again. Sekhtemet II picked it up and ran to the endzone. The pillars decided to stall a while even though they were getting bitten. TD turn 8.
Second half the Pillars received the ball and managed to out run the orcs going right then left, and back to finally run to the endzone. 2-0 is the final score!

wow - I wasnt expecting that. It was very tight in Albion this season, on another day any one of the top 5 could have won.

The league part of the season is over, and we\'re into the cups! Congratulations to the three league winners, who will all be involved in next season\'s draft, and to everyone who made it into the Challenge Cup or who got promotion.

Here is how the cups will work.

Challenge Cup
The six teams involved in the OWCC should all know how this works by now! Straight knock-out tournament for the main prize of the league. Good luck!

Kislev Plate
This is another straight knock-out tournament for the teams in the Kislev Conference. One team (Anapios) has randomly been given a bye into the semi-finals, since I\'ve stolen one team to jump into the Inter-Conference Shield (see below). See below for the deadlines.

Inter-Conference Shield
This is the most complicated, mainly because it is new. Here is how it will (hopefully) work:

I\'ve added all the teams into an Open Round Robin, but don\'t play any games except the specified fixtures please! You can find your next opponent above the table here.

Pregal, as Kislev champion (and still undefeated!) I\'ve promoted you a little bit early to replace Anzelak, so that we have the full 10 teams. I hope that is ok. You will be fighting for the Bretonnia team.

For the first round, everyone plays their opposite number from the other conference (as before). Overtime is set to on, so there will be no draws!

For the second and third rounds, the fixtures will be decided like this:

Second Round
The Bretonnia Team goes first (because they had more points in the regular season). They pick two match-ups between an Albion team and a Bretonnia team - the only restriction is it can\'t be a repeat of a previous Inter-Conference Shield game.

Then Albion Team goes, picking the final three remaining matches.

All this should be done by the deadline of the first round - you\'ll be allowed to discuss this privately in a Team PM, hopefully with uzkulak acting as impartial moderator.

Third Round
We go again as before, but this time Team Albion gets the first two picks, and Team Bretonnia the final three.

All wins count as 1 point, and the team with most combined points (with a potential maximum of 15) wins the Shield.

Every team will be entered into a lottery for the Royal Pardon, with a number of tickets equal to the number of wins they have during the Shield (maximum 3).

I hope that is clear! I think it is a lot more simple than it sounds.

Anyway, good luck everyone, and go Team Albion!

The Goldlords are quite happy staying in Albion thanks! Bretonnian wine and cheese didn't agree with the dwarves, as starved of beer they had their two worst seasons there.
