Oh undoubtably, Phil Collins drew them away from the prog-rock to rock-pop, but I still like Phil the most (even if most of the best Genesis songs were recorded without him even in the band). Wink

meh, i think i'm more attached to peter gabriel and phil collins' solo careers than their genesis careers...both of them really wrote some of their most moving, and touching music when they were on their own....that being said...i can agree with phil collins being a magnificent musician....Smile

I thought Prog only had techno. Just like in all of the movies all we see are raves. Wasnt Triple X based in Prog? I know Blade 2 had something about it as well. All techno music in both of those movies.

I refuse to vote as you basitids have left the greatest prog rock band of all time of your list.

RUSH

2112, Caress of Steel, Fly by Night, & Hemispheres are the greatest prog rock albums ever.

Hehehe... my technorat housemate thinks the same way. He also thinks that the most emphasised sub-style of goa is goa trance and industrial's flagship is noise.

But anyway! What a nice thread! King Crimson is my band of choice obviously. Just look through the musicians who play or played there: Adrian Belew started with Zappa, gone through Bowie, Talking Heads, and lots of session plays (NIN), Bill Bruford played in Yes (or ten years after?), Tony Levin played... even with Cher. And all the others I don't mention here. Nearly forty years of musical evolution.
