I was wondering what is the actual racial distribution in Blackbox. Not the existing teams, but teams that are scheduled by Bowlbot. So I recorded the announcements in #FumbblBlackBox this week and here are the results.

The difference is (percentage of played team) minus (percentage of existing team) so a positive value means that the race is more played than expected by the racial distribution

Code:

*********************************
*********************************
Total number of teams (scheduled, and TS above 0): 1358
Total number of teams ([B]lackbox Central): 1370
*********************************
*********************************
Amazon : teams: 37 ( 2.7 %) played: 19 ( 1.3 %)  difference -1.4
Chaos : teams: 94 ( 6.8 %) played: 114 ( 8.3 %)  difference 1.5
Chaos Dwarf : teams: 91 ( 6.6 %) played: 86 ( 6.3 %)  difference -0.3
Chaos Pact : teams: 68 ( 4.9 %) played: 99 ( 7.2 %)  difference 2.3
Dark Elf : teams: 82 ( 5.9 %) played: 73 ( 5.3 %)  difference -0.6
Dwarf : teams: 112 ( 8.1 %) played: 92 ( 6.7 %)  difference -1.4
Elf : teams: 31 ( 2.2 %) played: 23 ( 1.6 %)  difference -0.6
Goblin : teams: 13 ( 0.9 %) played: 16 ( 1.1 %)  difference 0.2
Halfling : teams: 18 ( 1.3 %) played: 11 ( 0.8 %)  difference -0.5
Human : teams: 52 ( 3.7 %) played: 48 ( 3.5 %)  difference -0.2
High Elf : teams: 42 ( 3.0 %) played: 41 ( 3.0 %)  difference 0.0
Khemri : teams: 48 ( 3.5 %) played: 30 ( 2.2 %)  difference -1.3
Lizardman : teams: 55 ( 4.0 %) played: 55 ( 4.0 %)  difference 0.0
Necromantic : teams: 78 ( 5.6 %) played: 92 ( 6.7 %)  difference 1.1
Norse : teams: 67 ( 4.8 %) played: 90 ( 6.6 %)  difference 1.8
Nurgle : teams: 75 ( 5.4 %) played: 68 ( 5.0 %)  difference -0.4
Orc : teams: 122 ( 8.9 %) played: 121 ( 8.9 %)  difference 0.0
Ogre : teams: 30 ( 2.1 %) played: 18 ( 1.3 %)  difference -0.8
Skaven : teams: 55 ( 4.0 %) played: 54 ( 3.9 %)  difference -0.1
Slann : teams: 35 ( 2.5 %) played: 57 ( 4.1 %)  difference 1.6
Undead : teams: 73 ( 5.3 %) played: 45 ( 3.3 %)  difference -2.0
Underworld : teams: 18 ( 1.3 %) played: 32 ( 2.3 %)  difference 1.0
Vampire : teams: 26 ( 1.8 %) played: 20 ( 1.4 %)  difference -0.4
Wood Elf : teams: 48 ( 3.5 %) played: 54 ( 3.9 %)  difference 0.4

Those results are not the same as the ones I wrote on my blog, because in the previous article I looked at the games played only in one evening.

Races that are less played than expected are:
Undead,
Amazon, Khemri,
Dwarf,
Amazon. .

Races that are more played than expected are:
Chaos Pact,
Norse,
Slanns,
Chaos.

If we consider only teams above TS 1500 we have:
Code:

*********************************
*********************************
Total number of teams (scheduled, and TS above 1500): 429
Total number of teams ([B]lackbox Central): 1370
*********************************
*********************************
Amazon : teams: 37 ( 2.7 %) played: 5 ( 1.1 %)  difference -1.6
Chaos : teams: 94 ( 6.8 %) played: 54 ( 12.5 %)  difference 5.7
Chaos Dwarf : teams: 91 ( 6.6 %) played: 30 ( 6.9 %)  difference 0.3
Chaos Pact : teams: 68 ( 4.9 %) played: 16 ( 3.7 %)  difference -1.2
Dark Elf : teams: 82 ( 5.9 %) played: 19 ( 4.4 %)  difference -1.5
Dwarf : teams: 112 ( 8.1 %) played: 38 ( 8.8 %)  difference 0.7
Elf : teams: 31 ( 2.2 %) played: 9 ( 2.0 %)  difference -0.2
Goblin : teams: 13 ( 0.9 %) played: 0 ( 0.0 %)  difference -0.9
Halfling : teams: 18 ( 1.3 %) played: 0 ( 0.0 %)  difference -1.3
Human : teams: 52 ( 3.7 %) played: 19 ( 4.4 %)  difference 0.7
High Elf : teams: 42 ( 3.0 %) played: 12 ( 2.7 %)  difference -0.3
Khemri : teams: 48 ( 3.5 %) played: 16 ( 3.7 %)  difference 0.2
Lizardman : teams: 55 ( 4.0 %) played: 8 ( 1.8 %)  difference -2.2
Necromantic : teams: 78 ( 5.6 %) played: 35 ( 8.1 %)  difference 2.5
Norse : teams: 67 ( 4.8 %) played: 10 ( 2.3 %)  difference -2.5
Nurgle : teams: 75 ( 5.4 %) played: 26 ( 6.0 %)  difference 0.6
Orc : teams: 122 ( 8.9 %) played: 51 ( 11.8 %)  difference 2.9
Ogre : teams: 30 ( 2.1 %) played: 4 ( 0.9 %)  difference -1.2
Skaven : teams: 55 ( 4.0 %) played: 5 ( 1.1 %)  difference -2.9
Slann : teams: 35 ( 2.5 %) played: 11 ( 2.5 %)  difference 0.0
Undead : teams: 73 ( 5.3 %) played: 21 ( 4.8 %)  difference -0.5
Underworld : teams: 18 ( 1.3 %) played: 17 ( 3.9 %)  difference 2.6
Vampire : teams: 26 ( 1.8 %) played: 2 ( 0.4 %)  difference -1.4
Wood Elf : teams: 48 ( 3.5 %) played: 21 ( 4.8 %)  difference 1.3

Those results are partial, since I am not always here to record the scheduled matches, and the difference parameter is a bit biased, but I hope some people are interested in these results.

Where are all these other Elf, Skaven, and Human-type teams you seem to have discovered?
All I see is the same old Bashers again, and again, and again, and again.

I must be the only coach that actually activates their softer teams. (I know some of you do too.)

What's up with all the coaches sticking to their Dorfs, Orcs, Chaos, and CD team?
All I ever hear about how the Box is AWESOME because you get to play whatever you want.
But all I see is the EXACT SAME teams that I could play every single day in Ranked.
What's so awesome about that? NOTHING. It's LAME.

Man up guys and bring some REAL Variety to the Box.

a big problem is, if you care about Ranking, you dont play bad races.

I think it would be nice if the scheduler match teams my TeamValue and a TeamRating.

That means a good Team with massiv wins will schedlued against very good teams too.
A bad race cannot do such a wassiv win ratio, so it get easier oppoents, etc

now factor in, how often each team got to play, to get a tendency if every coach always activates his softer teams, too Wink

ok, I know that it would mean even more work...

my personal experience is, it was, is and will ever be BashBox, with the occasional DE and some exots sprinkeled in for good taste.

thx catalyst for showing us your opinion about bashers in box again.
also thank you for leading the path in another direction... by having played with undead more than with any other race.

EDIT:
according to the statistic above 14% of the games played were elves.
according to your stats in bbox 12% of your games were elves.

don't forget...of his 67 games played in [B], 14 were played with dorfs, and 19 with undead...so 33 of 67(49%) with 2 bash teams...

I never trust the statistics when they show 0 games for gobbos above TV1500 Very Happy
That just isnt possible!

We gobbos demand to be recognized as the team with the greatest winning potential, it's just that our coaches are idiots! Razz

making catty comments without actually reading the thread = fail...

you do grasp that my comments were targetted at someone who was complaining about too much bash in the box right?...perhaps you should go back and actually read the entire thread instead of jumping in halfway with "NO U!"

Nice stats.

Good to see Rats at the top of the pile!

Also, interesting to see Dwarves getting their butts kicked over 1800 TV.
