This seems to be an issue that I have run across and on the fourms.
Here is the issue.
It has to do with the order you set up your tournament.
I will use round roubin/swiss as the example.
1)Create your tournament and it takes you to the main set up page. Enter your tournament name and style. At this point DO NOT worry about clicking on the optional rules and so forth. Hit done.
2)That will take you to the tournament start up page. On there will be configure and edit and start tournament.
Configure: Takes you back to the main set up page were the optional rules are.
Edit: Takes you to the scoring matrix for round robin or how many rounds the swiss will go.
Start Tournament takes you to load teams in the tournament.
3) This is the order the tournament MUST BE SET UP WITH. Failure to do so will result in the optional rules getting reset to default which is NONE.
A: Hit Edit. Set up your scoring system or rounds for the swiss and then hit done.
B: Hit configure: Now enter your optional rules and so forth. Double/triple check that everything is in order and how you want them.
C: Hit Start Tournament: Take you to the list of teams and load up your torunament. Hit the big START TOURNAMENT BUTTON at the bottom and off you go.
IF AT ANY POINT you hit back on your browser, click Edit again to double check. THE OPTIONAL RULES WILL DEFAULT BACK TO NONE.
Another thing to watch out for. SO you are going through the list of teams to load and are missing a team. You exit the page to go back to the league page to figure it out. When you come back you must START THE PROCESS OVER AGAIN. If you hit start tournament and load the teams but did not go back and follow the check list the tournament will NOT LOAD THE OPTIONAL rules as they were not saved.
Take your time and go slow.
KO and KoH format just have configure and Start Tournament.
1)Set optional rules
2)Hit start tournament and load teams
At any point if you "go back" or click out you must start over and reload the optional rules.
Hope this helps. |

I think Painstate has edit & configure mixed up.
Configure sets your scoring & edit sets the rules.
The issue is if you hit configure and then save, your rules will be wiped out.
So, don't even bother setting the rules until after you have set up your scoring.
And don't be messing around with browser back buttons when filling out web forms. |
