Obviously the first Kicker is important, and if he rolls double it's Guard all the way - but I start wondering if I roll a normal, do I automatically turn to Block or will Wrestle actually be more useful?
So when and why do you pick Wrestle over Block? |

The first as a Kicker is not important (and certainly not "obviously" so) depending on the team you have. Kick gets the most utility w/ high MA/high dodge (spec. all Elfs, Rats, Slann, etc.). (Any team can make some use of it (to ~some~ degree), but it's not nearly as useful as a "first" skill.)
But to answer the question: when you have permanent skilled linemen to put into the meatgrinder of the LoS. First (several) linemen need Block, and only once you feel that you have enough of those you can start skilling up non-journeymen for LoS duty. |

I tend to go for block but using wrestle to bring players down on their turn (including kickoff) can come in very handy when you then waltz through the gaps created by their lost tackle zones. Wrestle+Dodge (wrodge) elves are popular. |

Take your medication, P - you're hallucinating and raving again.
I pointed out that Kick is not the first skill for every team, and then answered his question. While you simply babbled and didn't address the OP at all. Par for the course, champ. |

1. I'm Not sure the OP did say that kick should be the first skill.
2. It wasn't obvious to me that you pointed out kick is not the first skill for every team either.
Maybe if you're nice, Pythrr will share some of his medication. |

Heh heh
Forget the bloobowl. It's all about the bickering.
Obvious answer is it depends.
Agree with Smeat. Kick is not so obviously great for most teams.
I'd say it depends on how many block you have alrready and how many your team needs.
Let us know you team and responses may be more useful.
If I start with 4 blitz ers my first 2 linos may take wrestle. |

yep, depends...
I kind of like wrestle though, so they can sack the ball, or free up some TZ.
EDIT: oh, and welcome to fumbbl! |

Let's say if I play human?
I've had a strange luck with this human team actually. Three lineman leveled up earlier - I gave the first Kick, the other 2 rolled a double. So that's two guard Lino and one Kick.
I waited so long for the last lino to level up now he does, so right now the squad has 4 Blitzers + Thrower & Catcher with Block to make it 6. |

Not really familiar with humans really, but the guard ones should get block IMO, to keep standing up.
for this lino I would prob go wrestle.
btw, Cyanide or TT? |

and let's not forget about dirty player. Almost as important as kick on cheap linemen teams. |

I am not into human myself, but played a lot against them. Usually I see either Wrestle, or Dirty player as a 2nd kill on kickers. |

Personally, I'm not entirely convinced about this. Zombies, skeletons, orcs and the likes yes. But I find a linerat for instance doesn't get as much mileage as the others. I find myself short on players quite often and thus not wanting to risk anyone else getting send off in most situations. But that could be just me getting my players hurt too much. |
