Just a quick question, I'm looking for others perspectives.

My ball carrier beastman has mv7 and nothing else. For his second skill he rolled a double five, and I'm not sure what to take. As far as I see I have three choices:

1-Mv8. Woosh! But is it worth it? Is the step up as significant as the one from mv6 to mv7?

2-Dodge. I'm a bit reluctant to take it as I'll only have one dodge player, making him an easy target for tacklers. But a possible future mv7 blodge two-headed ball carrier could be a beaut...

3-Skip it and take block. But, bah, less fun.

Opinions?

[Edit] Oh, forgot, the team. https://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=853847

MA8 is ridiculous and while precarious to be without block for a few games, if he takes MA8 he'll be on the fast track to get to the next level.

MA8 also comes in useful as a defensive sweeper type. Even if you get another beast with AG, who therefore becomes your carrier, MA8 gives you a good player to deal with Elf/Gutter Runner types who make a breakaway. Although he'll really want Block (or Wrestle) and Tackle to do that job.

And it's about as good a OTS shot as Chaos are ever going to have, along with a much better two turn play.

Take the MA.

I'd be hard pressed to not take dodge on him, but at the same time, MA 8 gives you a legitimate that to one turn.

To be fair, he's still a one turn threat at MA 7, but only if you really know your push game.

That said, I'd probably go for the MA boost here. MA 8 makes for a great defensive sweeper as well as a speedy ball handler. With horns, he's ST 4 on a blitz, and has a range similar to a gutter runner.

I'd consider block, two heads, tackle, and sure hands as the rest of his build, if he doesn't double again and you don't take dodge here.

If he were MA6 and rolled 5,5 I would probably take the Double.
But considering he already has MA7... MA8 is probably how I would go.

MA8 is very fast... especially for player with ST3.

Fast enough that if you Dodge away and run from a MA6 opponent man-marking you he cannot reengage with you unless he rolls some dice.. if is he dodges away from run and runs away... even if he GFIs 2 times you can catch him without rolling any dice.

With MA8 he can run from 1 End Line to the other in 3 turns without rolling any dice.
It would take an MA6 player 4 turns to do the same thing... or 3 turns with 6 Dice rolls.

Thanks for all your advice!

Movement taken. There will be whooshing about, inevitably followed by him going splat in a ridiculously anticlimactic fashion, as is the way of most double stat players. ^_^

Consider this: with MA 8 he should not die for a failed GFI.

God knows how many one-turners I've seen die to a GFI
