Hi. I was wondering what you guys think about the humans' teams.
Despite all i read on them, i find them quite good, especially the blitzers, but also the 60K catcher. They are really quite speedy
I found a strategy guide which adviced to play them bashys versus agile, and agile versus bashys. Were you sucessfull with them, trying to do such strategy? |

They are a good team. But as the tv increases the specialised teams tend to excel |

I understand your point. What about the ogre? Seems to me like even if he increase TV, he make bash easier versus agile. Though he really increase tv... |

In Ranked, I avoid the Ogre, but I take one in League.
I've found Humans can be built all sorts of ways. Ogres, Catchers, Throwers, and even Blitzers are all expendable, but all good enough to consider. The cheap Linemen and cheap re-rolls sure don't hurt.
Humans are a fairly strong team up to about 1700k in Ranked and Black Box. |

The blitzers with their strength access are very important to use and skill up. The Ogre is worth experimenting with. A solid big guy though not everyone thinks they are worth it due to bonehead and loner. Obviously a Block Ogre is a very useful fella.
For increasing TV you don't gain much by having skills on rookie players so yeah by 1700 you will usually be facing better teams. They will either have lots of hitters or crazy agile fellows to trouble you with. But still you can really enjoy Humans for quite some time. |

Also there are some human based leagues at fumbbl, like on in my signature. So if you are looking for league action, involving humans, you can find amusement. If you are interested in DLE, or looking for other human based leagues, then either ask, or check the list of leagues. |

People can tell you how fine humans are, but the statistics do not support their claims.
Humans are not really good in any TV range. That doesn't mean they can't be enjoyable to play, but ultimately most other teams are still mechanically advantaged against them. |

Honestly against Elves they do quite well. Speed and Mighty Blow + Tackle does it. |

My "serious" Human builds do at least as well as my overall win rate with other races. Heck, even the Ranked Amateurs are only a few % below my average. I've won a RRR with Humans. Humans can compete at low and middling TV. They're not the "best" but they do very well against some races that are among the best, like Wood Elves. |

Aye, Humans can do very well in competitive environments. And they are actually not that average, being one of the fastest teams in BB. |

People can say what they want, if you directly compare humans to any half decent race you'll find them not faring too well.
Linemen and Blitzers are what makes the team. At low TV their cheap cost and decent efficiency makes them very competitive. Later on with lot stats it's more and more of an uphill battle.
The catchers, thrower and ogre are all valuable options and are all well integrateable and add new options. None of them is really necessary tho.
Catcher for 60k is still a new development and probably is more interesting to use now. I'm not sure it's worth it to keep a developed Catcher without doubles on the long run tho. |

Humans fare well vs: Dark Elves, Elves, Goblins, Halflings, High Elves, Norse, Skaven, Slann, Underworld, Wood Elves.
Humans fare okay vs: Amazons, Chaos, Chaos Pact, Humans, Necromantic, Ogres, Vampires.
Humans fare poorly vs: Chaos Dwarfs, Dwarfs, Khemri, Lizardmen, Nurgle, Orcs, Undead.
Did I miss anyone? |

On the other hand, please don't make me play against a good human team with a great coach at the helm.
Humans are how you flaunt your chops as a coach. |
