The only clearly compelling argument in favour of handicaps is that it increases the chances of getting decent matches. It might therefore be worth getting the scheduler to generated some matches ignoring TR completely, side-by-side with the standard generated matches. We play the standard matches, but some suitably knowledgeable members compare with the TR-ignored matchups under the assumption they'd be played with handicaps turned off, and subjectively assess which of the two schedules is most attractive. If the no-handicaps one looks like it is doing fine, then switch to it. |

And since the Nos outweigh the Yes 2 to 1, I'd say there's no pressing need. |
