The company I used didn't offer that for engraved dice. I believe the original set were hand painted too, maybe by another company? |

I’ve added an advisory poll, open for the next 48 hours and if we can get some kind of consensus I will consider limiting the amounts.
Possibly with the option to allow people to add to their order should I end up with any unclaimed after a week.
I don't think there is a perfect option but want to be fair as i can and keep things simple.
I’m aware that some people may want to buy for their friends either to save postage or because they won’t be online when the forum post goes up. Plus the less packages I have to post the simpler the process will be. |

I'm really worried about missing out here. The dice are fantastic, and there seems to be a lot of interest.
I'd even suggest adding an option to your poll to restrict things further. e.g. 2 sets per order (6 dice max).
Postage and orders can be combined after the dice have been allocated. |

+1.
He did say he'd consider expanding the order though. |

If it were me I'd leave orders open for 24h, then allocate 1 set to each respondent in the order they posted (FCFS). Then if you have leftovers make another pass at the list allocating the #2 choice, and again for #3, until they're gone. I realize this could make orders complicated, and increases shipping effort. But it would ensure your goal: "to get as many people as possible a cool set of dice." But I promise not to whine about whatever method you choose!
I hope the logistics go smoothly. Wish I could help with it. |

You sir, are the man. Hell, you already were, but more so now. =)
If you do decide to do another set (I'm confident the demand is there), might I advise you to just sell them unpainted? A painting job as dull as this one is an unconscionable waste of your talents.

I like this suggestion, as it helps out those people for whom it is impossible (work) or impractical (sleep) to be online at that time. |

Maybe it's simpler if you don't put any restriction, but warn that people are not sure to get as many sets as they wish, and it's sorted out once registration ends.
Like you open it for a set amount of time, everyone states how many they want, then it's set to give first one to everyone that asked, and then assigning one more to everyone that asked for more, until orders are fulfilled/sets are all gone.
With a google sheet you could easily seehow you fare, how many remainng sets there would be, etc. |

What exactly is a "set" in this case? 3 dice of one color or 6? |

I like fidius' suggestion as well. Seems like it would be the fairest.
(Btw, Chuck has his own block dice, that only have pows on them ..) |

It's very nice to you to donate profits to the site. That inclines me to buy some despite never playing OTB. But probably I'll just donate instead.
Is there a certain weight that the dice need to adhere to, because I would like to make some out of wood, and any one with access to woodworking machinery could probably make wood dice cheaper if that was allowed OTB. |
