FED UP!
NBC News ~ Your #1 source for Northern Border Confederates news
It hasn't taken long for fans of the Northern Border Confederates to express their displeasure at Angrymans appointment. With fans starting a petition demanding Angrymans removal after a dismal start to the season following a draw to the Cockerels leaving the Confederates as the laughing stock of the CBBA.
After a promising start with Axel Einwiener ending poor Gamwise Codgerwoods career and time on this earth, the Confederates game play then looked about as organised as a junior league side at a birthday party. There seemed to be a real lack of understanding by the players regarding what their role was supposed to be, with fans left wondering why an all freshman side was chosen in the first place.
Coach Angryman has declined to comment.

OUTRAGE
Further information has come to light about the UNJUST banning of the Stirland AXEMEN from CBBA Season 5. Apparently according to an inside league source, the AXEMEN were dropped from the CBBA line-up after Coach Suttbutt accepted a holiday from a sponsor without declaring it!
'This is an outright lie!' quote team manager Twinkletoes earlier today. He went onto say that the perfectly legitimate buisness trip to sunny Lustria was paid for in full by Coach Suttbutt.
I'm sure we will hear more about this turmoil in the coming weeks! Please AXEFANS go to the Mootland games and bash a few thieving shorty heads in to sedate your anger!
For more information, news and commentary, read the Stirland Chipper first.

Fox Talk (Remas Campus Newsletter)
Beni Pointed to the Door
by Aniella Vollaro
Diavoli halfback Benito Triscari
Relations between Diavoli and CBBA have been tense and the shocking events in Remas last night have Tilea on the brink of being expelled from the competition.
After reluctantly shifting the Griffin's opening fixture to Remas, CBAA officials demanded the Diavoli meet with the Imperial Referees Guild to discuss rule interpretations. It was clear that the CBBA are serious in their mission to stamp out the dance. Head of the Guild Oskar Koch, in Remas to officiate tomorrow's game, chaired the meeting.
The meeting, attended by all Diavoli management and players, started badly when Assistant Coach Mila Fiore Pisciotta immediately launched into a passionate tirade. Herr Koch stood firm in the face of her outburst (and spitting), calmly pointed to Diavoli halfback Benito Triscari and explained how his relentless fouling would no longer be tolerated. Any fouling by serial offender Triscari, would result in the player being sent from the field, the game abandoned and forfeited to the reigning champions.
Unsurprisingly this was not received well. The players and coaching staff angrily abused the official, but the referee was unmoved in the face of the furious Diavoli.
The shouting was silenced by a blissfully calm Triscari. The halfling walked up to Herr Koch, bowed politely and graciously accepted the referee's ruling. He apologised for his previous indiscretions, vowed to never dance on the pitch again, and extended his right hand in friendship. Herr Koch was taken aback and thankfully shook Triscari's hand. Beni has a surprisingly firm grip for someone so small. He slammed the Koch's hand onto the table, pulled out a paring knife, and swiftly removed the referee's index finger.
"How you gonna send me off, if ya can't point me to the sideline Bastardo!", the halfling squealed manically. He then skipped out the door singing gleefully.
Sadly, this signals the end of Triscari's playing career at the Diavoli. He has been replaced by Fox Talk journalist and senior TRU student, Kosmo Nuzzi. "Big Beni" will play his first game as a fully fledged rostered player at the Colosseum. Triscari is rumoured to be giving him dance lessons. |

Wolf's Howl Preseason Special - Issue 12
by Cliophus Gutschreiber
The Wolfpack, conference winners for Season 5, take to the field again in the Season Starter against the newly renamed team Borghild Bears out of Urslo coached by Rookie Coach LictorZ.
Some changes have been made, with uninspired Wolfkin Ulric being replaced by his younger brother Elric, whilst Franz Josef has bowed out to be replaced by his first cousin once removed Ernest. Hopes are high once again for Middenheim's one true college team to battle their way to the top, especially with the Norsemen fielding rookie coaches and teams. The truth will out in battle! |

Bears Bugle Round 1 Snapshot
Opening game shows promise!
Coach LictorZ wanted his players to be ferocious and relentless, and they delivered. Baldr, the team Captain lead by example, though an unfortunate bit of foot positioning appears to have resulted in the opposition lineman, Ernest zur und von Carroburg, being sent off in a stretcher in his debut game. We wish him a speedy recovery. Bears lost to the Wolfpack 2-1. A brilliant and cheeky hand off couldn't be covered by the defence and full credit to the Wolfpack! |

The last 24h have been a crazy wonderful dream. On the roster! Then there was an initiation ceremony involving the Daemonettes (WOW!), followed by a night long intensive training by Benito in the art of the dance. I had no sleep at all before the big match. Stepped into the Colosseum in a daze. Passed Beni disguised as an imp mascot, patted him on the tummy (for luck), and onto the field.
The Dance! My first attempt was a bit of an embarrassment, Griffins have pretty solid armour. Their limbs aren't well protected though. The Stapler, OFF!, with a fractured leg. Then a touchdoown, and nominated for MVP. What a start!

Coach Tomay Loses Temper
The Griffins lost the first game of the season in a major upset against the Diavoli. Without their star players (except Eagle Eye) the Griffins put in a poor performance. In the after game press conference, Coach Tomay could be heard unleashing on his players. There are rumours he is set to wield the axe and shake up the squad for a rebuild toward next season.

News On the street is the gunners have got some new powder in there guns with a win against the Eagles and just tonight going in 2-1 against Tilea Diavoli!.
Some major controversy also in the papers after a huge cloud of black bomb smoke somehow saw a casualty swapped out between the sides after a huge hit was laid down on the gunners thrower but soon after a Diavoli player was taken off in a stretcher?. What kind of Black magic is this?., Watch this space. #gunnerontherise #blackpowdermagic |

Mila is spitting tacks. Not at the Imperial Scum, who with some pyrotechnic trickery seemed to shift time back a notch, pulling their player from casualty and back onto the field.
No, she's mad at our mystic medic Drago. "Why can't you do this?", she screamed

After a promising finish to Season 5, the MCC Harlequins kicked off Season 6 against perennial winners, the Yhetees. It proved to be more than the Elves could handle, and they once more find themselves at the wrong end of the ladder.
The team won't need to wait long for their chance at redemption though, with their Round 2 game against conference rival the Clippers scheduled for today at 3:30pm.

The MCC Harlequins would like to thank Respen Inara for his service to the team over his 2 game career. Get well soon Respen, and good luck with your future endeavours.
We welcome Josidiah Farran to the first team, being promoted after some solid work on the training pitch.

AVERHEIM UNIVERSITY GAZETTE
Completely Biased Reporting since Imperial Court Appeal, 17 Vorhexen 2516
New Season, Old Bollocks
Well CBBA has once again kicked off with one of its premier teams still languishing in a non-event conference. Despite back to back bowl appearances and one of the best win-rates in the entire league, the Averheim University Stallions have been confined to the competitive backwaters of the CBBA.
A concerted effort by team management, Averheim City Council, this newspaper and backers in the royal court attempted to garner promotion to a more illustrious division for this top team. Negotiations stalled shortly before the Bowl match against the Royal Altdorf Griffins, which prompted the team to protest, using the funeral and mourning period for fan-favourite Horst 'Bully' Eschemann as a cover for delaying the final.
Sadly, these efforts came to naught - the Stallions have not been promoted to the All-Imperials, and there have been NO increases in team funding. In fact, this paper has heard from sources close to CBBA Administrative that sanctions were threatened against the Stallions if they continued to delay the final - the excuse given was pressure from fans and ticketholders, but we can be sure that the Griffins were mostly to blame for the pressure on our fine team.
Even the 'official' news source of the CBBA has turned out against the Stallions, once again claiming their success has only been down to the quality (or lack thereof) of their opponents. This not only displays a lack of respect for most of the league on which Ms Demonbreeder is paid to report on, it shows that the CBBA itself seems to be beholden to one team and one team only. Despite clamouring to celebrate the victories of the Griffins, Ms Demonbreeder is suspiciously quiet when they are beaten by one of these so-called subpar teams.
Welcome to the CBBA folks. It's a New Season, but the same Old Bollocks... |

Cocks will lose - Wozzaa
In the build up to the Fighting Cockerels next game against the Wolves, coach Wozzaa confused fans with the statement that the Cockerels 'will lose the game' before the ball has been kicked. Some claim that Wozzaa is attempting to unnerve Coach Faulcon with mind games.
Wozzaa also had plenty to say to the CBBA commissioners:
"They (CBBA officials) won't let us have our own chef. The Chefs at EU are the best. We don't want to have to pay huge sums of money for an 'official' chef. We want to use our own. It is like they want us to lose."
When questioned about the importance of the chef, Wozzaa had this to say:
"Some say training, tactics and positioning win a game, some claim it's the players or the coach. But they are wrong. It is the in-game chef who decides whether a tie is won or lost. My boys just can't perform on empty stomachs." |
