This point was just made on our discord, and I think its a really good one.
Is it as simple as many of the skill tweaks we've seen so far, are driven because all skills need to be useful for the new random skill rolls?
Examples:
- Break Tackle and Tentacles changed so it works for low ST players
- Shadowing for average and low MA playeres
- Leap adds 1 to the new Jump action
Or have these skill tweaks been made for game balance reasons?
What do you reckon? |

You certainly don't need to worry about that particular coach. It seems to me like the new rules turn this entire game into a minmaxing fest so he should be as happy as a pig in muck. |

Found the Stalling rules
for every 50k that you're the Underdog in a league match, you get a Prayers to Nuffle roll
These are similar to the old Cards, on a D16
One of them is Throw a Rock
Which means until end of the drive, if opposition player Stalls, at the end of their turn you can roll a D6
On a 5+ the player is Knocked Down |

Given its a d16 roll the opposing coach will know what Prayers are in his opponents pocket.. so he will know the risks of stalling... |

One of the other Prayers to Nuffle is effectively IGMEOY @Garion
Advancements are:
3 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 15 spp to buy a random Primary skill
6 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 / 30 spp to buy a random Secondary skill, or choose a Primary
12 / 14 / 18 / 22 / 26 / 40 spp to choose a Secondary skill
18 / 20 / 24 / 28 / 32 / 50 spp to buy a random +Stat
So your first Random Primary is 3 spp
Your second Random Primary is 4 spp, (for 7 spp total on the player)
If you took 6 Random Primarys, you'd reach Legend at 46 spp total
If you took a Chosen Primary (6) then a Random +Stat (20) you'd be at 26 spp total
If you want a +Stat, you roll D16
1-7 = +MA or +AV or a chosen Secondary
8-13 = +MA or +AV or +PA or a chosen Secondary
14 = +AG or +PA or a chosen Secondary
15 = +ST or +AG or a chosen Secondary
16 = any +stat or a chosen Secondary
Costs, this is how much increases the TV of the player
Random Primary: 10k
Chosen Primary: 20k
Random Secondary: 20k
Chosen Secondary: 40k
+AV: 10k
+MA or +PA: 20k
+AG: 40k
+ST: 80k |

If player gets injured during a season they can Temporarily Retire to the end of the season, then become available for re-drafting, and have a chance to heal stat-loss injuries and replace with a niggle, on a 4+ or 3+ if you have apoth.
-Niggles have the same chance to be healed during redraft without needing to miss games
-MNG auto-healed by redraft process
They count towards your 16man roster limit, but not your Team Value
There's no mention of Wants To Retire?
There's 5 category of skill (A G M P S as previously)
Each one has 12 skills, so you can randomly select, (which is why possibly some skills have been split) |

Yep, no mention of any way of doing it secretly
It also says
Roll a D16 and .. table blah blah... no duplicates...
All Results rolled on this table come into effect at the start of the next drive
and you do this before the game
So all these effects must start on the first drive of the game? you can't choose when to play them.
There's no other text about activating them
'this half' = 3
'this game' = 4
'this drive' = 9 |

I posted this on Facebook Blood Bowl Community, but am intrigued what the fumbbl people think:
With the new teams, the new passing skill and the discussion on stalling, one thing that I am intrigued about is the ability to leap over prone players.
I have a feeling that the standard box cage is now going to be much more penetrable and that agility teams will have a greater chance of getting to the ball carrier if everyone can "jump". In the old rules, Wardancers and Slann lead the way in terms of being able to aggresively attack the cage, but now I think the whole cage grind will need to be more carefully planned for and will be easier to slow down.
I think we will see more "Bus Cages" and hence I think this one rule will really change the game.
Also, given its a riskier roll (generally I suspect you will need a 5 or 6+ for the average agility player to get into a cage), we will see more aggressive defences.
If you have a Chaos Warrior and a reroll, why not go for the 6+ jump and see if you can get 2 dice on the ball for example... |

Yes
It's also why Slann or Kislev will possibly not return
The more I think about buying +AV for 10k TV, the better it seems, especially with reduced clawpomb around
Eg wardancer
First skillup for 18 spp, take +stat, have a 14/16 chance to get +AV
Second skillup for 20 spp, take +stat, have a 14/16 chance to get +AV
Third skillup for 12 spp, choose a primary eg Tackle
Total player cost is 125+10+10+20 = 165 so it's a bargain to redraft
It takes 50 spp to build this,
Now you have a player with Block Dodge Leap Tackle and 8349 stats |

Break Tackle is nerfed
it now is +1 to the roll if you're str4 or less, or +2 if you're str5 or above
So saurus dodge on a 4+ with the skill or 5+ without
Previously the skill let them dodge on 2+
It's a hard nerf to lizardman team
It no longer limited to only once per move
EDIT: actually it is still limited to once per move |

Well, if Saurus dodging has been nerfed, on the other hand Claw has been nerfed as well.
Lizardmen then will just take more Guards/MB.
When you can't dodge, focus on bash. |
