Your don't get the +1 from an accurate pass because you are not in the target square meaning the catch isn't taking place in the target square, meaning it's not an accurate pass
DC is for catching sloppy passes, not adding +1 to your passers range! |

That is not the definition for an accurate pass Dave.
CRP, p12, Throwing the Ball: "The player can throw the ball to another player in his own team (or another player in the opposing team if he really wants to), or simply to an empty square, though obviously the first of these options will be the most useful."
About accurate, same page just after:
"If the final modified score equals or beats the required roll, the pass is accurate and lands in the target square. If the D6 roll is less than the required total, then the pass in not accurate and will scatter."
Later on catching, it says the rule you quote; but it doesn't affect the fact that the pass is already accurate. You use the modifers mentioned and the one we're looking at is "Catching an accurate pass".
Diving catch allow you to catch the ball as if it was in the target square, and you get plus one as the pass is already accurate.
But again, in this case, you don't get the "second" +1, which you would if you were in the target square already (for a total of +2). |

Fair enough, I'll add it to the "Why LRB4 was better than CRP" list! |

The layout of LRB4 is terrible though. |

on turn 8th of the 2nd half I passed the ball to an empty square near my Slann catcher in order to make an easier pass (3+ instead of a 4+).
I rolled a 3, so it was accurate, then I rolled a 2 for the Diving Catch and the catch failed.
It should have been successful, or am I wrong? |
The pass was accurate and the catcher could use diving catch to "catch as if the ball had been passed to his square".
You are correct this is a bug. A very small one, please report it. (It will get fixed eventually)
Then get over it. You are not the first, and won't be the last to lose because of a bug.
I believe that in the fumbbl rules it states that any client action that isn't in agreement with the rules, is to be treated as the rules.
There is then a further clause about bug abuse. |

Err... I simply told my experience, I'm not complaining about the bug, nor I lost the game, I drew it 1-1 instead of winning 2-1, but if nobody reports the bugs, they never get fixed. |

Hold on a minute...You cannot pull back on the rage just because it seems you have won on the argument!!!!
If this is so important, I fully expect the same level of rage of a tie that I saw on page 1 to continue all the way to conclusion and beat Kalimar with a dead fish over the head until this is made right. |

Ahh, all good then. I misunderstood.
I will assume you didn't just make a random post in the forums, but used the bug report system. (http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=bugs)
Where you searched to make sure this bug wasn't reported.
Tested it a few times to make sure the bug is consistent. Then explained all this in an offical bug report (which you filed under the correct category).
Glad to hear it, we need more people like you. |

What is it with you fumbbl guys?
Every time you dont like a rule, you invoke "the rules are written bad- card".
English is not my first language and i'm dyslexic, but I can read the rules just fine.
It helps to actually open the document.
Anyways, +1 to MattDakka |

who said anything about not liking a rule, other than you...
for the most part, LRB has a longstanding history of poorly written sections, mainly because they aren't tested on a grand scale(*cough cough*), only in small test groups, which means that a fair amount of odd situations come up that cause conflicts within the way the rules are laid out from one skill to another...the fact that two people can read the same ruling and come to different conclusions helps reinforce that shoddy history...
but more importantly...
who the hell are you to be so high and mighty that your interpretation of the rules is obviously correct, and anyone who doesn't agree with that is inferior?...
