Good call!
Also, possibly point out the resources on FUMBBL?
o Starting Roster & early Skill suggestion pages
o Defensive Setups page
o Basic Tactics/Rules for Newbies
Then...
o How to download Java? (some coaches are young and/or new to I-net)
o How Client automatically loads.
o How to Spec a Game (makes sure client is good)
o How to re-watch an old game (w/ basic forward/fast-forward/forward-1-Turn commands)
Also, under Save Setup, I usually try to have a "D v. Bash", a "D v. Speed", "D v. OTS", and so on. Can do sim for offense if you want, tho' often that takes tweaking to the specific D you're facing. Also a "Dx" and an "Ox", to save the latest setup I've used - good if you've lost players and/or have tweaked to a specific opposition.
Can also go with a "Bare bones" setup - just the key players in their positions (ballhandler, sweepers, SS on corners, whatever) and the rest to be placed as desired - saves some time.
Sometimes I'll also have a "Bench" setup saved - all my players in a specific order in Reserves, best to worst by position. Good for when I have to create a non-standard offense or defense, just to start w/ an organized roster. Or if your players were hired in a random order - gets things organized (if that's important). (That's getting a bit personal and specific, but it suggests what can be done with "Save Setup".)
o You could do all this in a Test game, and showing how to setup a Test Game would be another point, with some of the features there (those are listed on Test Game page - how to force die rolls, add/remove skills, etc.)
https://fumbbl.com/help:Test+mode
o Edit - Oh, and one close to my heart - the 4 minute clock, and how to time an opponent out. |

Well, here's my first go at "how-to", but the tech has let me down somewhat. Have a look if you like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oua47PG4uBY
A couple of things came up while I was recording:
- what does the roster icons button do?
- is there a trick to use the shortcut keys, do you just press the button?
- with the blitz bug (i.e. allowed to use a reroll on the catch), is Fumbbl policy to allow rerolls (i.e. different to CRP rules) or for everyone to be expected to know not to?
Will have another go at some point, probably. |

However, a thought, say I was to live stream on Twitch instead of recording then uploading to Youtube, would that be problematic because people can comment on the game and it can be viewed by the participants? Would this be seen as unfair advantage in some way? |

Add 4 minute delay to stream if you consider that a problem
And no, that is hardly unfair advantage. Live chat is one of the reasons to stream, if there is no live chat, then it's no different from a recorded video really. At least in case of turn based fantasy football game. |

That's a common occurrence in games with hidden information, like real time strategy games, but I doubt very much that it can have any real impact in FUMBBL matches.
The only hidden thing is the cards, and about the comments... errrrr probably the worst possible scenario is somebody getting upset when he sees that the spectators are talking shit about him. |

Twitch allows that UI template/skin thingy. You could hide the chat with something to prevent any incidents. |

ah, good point about the cards. Don't tend to use them much. |
