My Norse (Hammer Time) Have gone 2-0 to win their qualifier!
In terms of stars:
Match 1 141 Norse vs 174 Lizardmen. I hired Deeproot Strongbranch who was amazing all match frequently tying down 3 Sauri with his Strength 7. (I also hired a wizard)
My second game had no stars. |

Great run with the team. Curious about the approach to team building. No valkyries? |

I just ask MerryZ what to do and then do that....
More specifically: there is a Valkyrie, just 1 though. Getting it to block was pretty slow but has been an awesome ball carrier since then. Catch has come into play way more often than expected picking up bouncing balls after popping it lose. Have not passed with Valk and Dauntless only comes up occasionally but I suspect against a ST4 ball carrier w/o sure hands it would be vital in that matchup.
Yeti was random strength as first skill until getting a good one, then picking block (Fired previous one with Arm bar)
Linemen are random generals mostly dying off but occasionally being replaced after getting 2 bad randoms. It'd be really nice if I could roll a DP but I've managed to cull all the shadowing linemen one way or another. (That said shadowing actually won me a game on a follow vs a troll slayer once) |

With all the qualifiers down into the finals (or finished) we have:
1 Underworld, 1 Ogre, 1 Chaos Dwarf have already won a dark qualifier.
2 Humans, 1 Dwarf, and 1 Norse have already won a light qualifier.
The remaining finals are:
Undead vs Ogre
Skaven vs Goblin
Chaos vs Orc
Goblin vs Underworld
Undead vs Goblin
Pro Elf vs Wood Elf
Dwarf vs Pro Elf
Lizard vs Imperial Nobility
Human vs Pro Elf
Pick a team, pick a coach, and come cheer 'em on!
We need an Undead winner! |

Go the Goblins, Goblins, Goblins, Ogres, and ... Chaos I guess.
Plus Woodies, Dwarfs, Imps, and Pro Elf.
That'd all suit me nicely. Go the Goblins, and not just from the perspective of the Dwarf coach. |

Oh, no, I actually got the Goblins first up. My shame is at hand, doomed. |

I went through and looked at all of the outcomes during the qualifiers. In my opinion, the idea is debunked that having Morg and/or Hack is an auto win. On a few occasions, a good or even excellent coach with the stars lost. The results looked varied to me. However, the stars won often enough they seem to make matchups close.
My own opinion is that stars do exactly what they are made to do. They are good inducements that make games fair.
Or at least, they have done so during this tournament. |
