Roll up Roll up ladies and gentlemen for the greatest tournament in SWL history - the SWL PRO BOWL.
This competition will pit the best players from all sections of the SWL against each other in a competition to see who will reign supreme.
The Qpool, Vets League, Premier League, Regional Leagues and Conferences will be represented, and they will be coached by the best coaches in the SWL.
Here is how it will work.
Each of the teams will consist of the following players:
1 Big Guy Has to be an actual big guy
5 Linemen These guys are there to hold the line and get in the way.
4 Blitzers These are players who fill the traditional "run in and kick the crap out of the other team" role
3 Catchers These are people who can get the scoring done, only pure BS need apply.
2 Throwers Someone who can get it, and get rid of it with some serious class.
1 Odd Ball Someone who it will be fun to have along for the ride, a halfling, dirty player, someone like that.
Okay. Here is how it is gonna work.
STEP 1
Everyone nominates players, you can nominate as many players from as many teams as you like with the following rules in mind:
- They have to be alive (or dead) enough to play. No RIPs will be admitted
- They have to be able to play in one of the team (Vets, Pool, Prem, Conf, Regionals)
- They will be playing as-is, so someone with 3 niggles won't make it, etc etc.
- You can nominate from your team or other teams, just as long as the player is alive and in the SWL
- The player must fit the responsibilities of a position, it has nothing to do with what he began has, a wardancer might be a good catcher or a good blitzer, but can only be listed in one category.
The nominations can be posted into this forum in the following format
Name - Position - Team - Group - Link
for example
Antaka - Catcher - Minor Deities - Regionals - http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=752831
STEP 2
From these nominations I will draw up a short list, I won't be too picky, but your 7 spp zombie won't make it =P
STEP 3
Once these lists are up, everyone can vote, simply everyone will have three votes (3, 2, 1) for each position on each team. You can vote for as many teams as you want, but only once.
These will be in the following format
Group
Position
3. Name
2. Name
1. Name
Position
etc, etc
STEP 4
I will tabulate these votes and the players with the most votes will make it into the team.
STEP 5
I will start a seperate post for voting for the top 5 coaches in the SWL, but that will be later.
I will open nominations now, and keep them open until the 6th round begins so that we have time to get the short lists together and vote.
So now is the time SWL, get out there, nominate your own players, other peoples players, your most hated and loved players so we can enjoy the brilliance which will be the SWL PRO BOWL
(remember nominations are in the format
Name - Position - Team - Group - Link
enjoy!!!) |

I still say there should be a proper category for Blockers rather than lumping them in with the poor old linos. Why not separate to 3 Blockers and 2 Linemen? No way Mummies, Bobs, Saurus, or Chaos Warriors should be considered linemen. To do so is to underrate their particular skill - belting the piss out of things. Lineman are the players good at doing things that are valuable, but not desirable for your more specialised players, such as Kicking, Booting, Assisting, tying up other players, and generally taking one for the team. The Orc team even has separate positions with lineman and blocker in them. |

If they are still alive clay, they are definently in consideration, those who have passed on, or are now very niggled might not make it. |

quick question,
will whatever happens to these players while they are "on loan" to the all-star team actually happen to them? I mean could they return to your normal qpool/conf/lil leeg with a bunch of new spps, or on the bad end, as a RIP in a body bag? Or is this something totally seperate in an alternate universe sort of thing? |
