PLAYER NICKNAMES AND TITLES
Ha! Tricked you into looking. Welcome to my clickbait.
Now. It's a verified fact that everybody loves playing Amazons. As their coach or against. It's not like they are early TV easy mode or anything. Fight me. Then like and subscribe.
So... I was definitely not cherry picking some flings the other day when my Blocker hit one of the opposition trees so hard he dislocated his shoulder and will have to sit out the team's next match.
He had it coming though.
Anyways it got me to thinking that it would be nice to be able to add a nickname to players after they have played a few games. Like an extra field in the players bio that can be changed after the team is made and confirmed. That way the lineman who murders two rats in his second game can get Killer added. Or the Dorf that dodges out like an Elf can be called 'Lucky'(And then hopefully substituted by his coach and sacked.).
I was wondering how much interest there would be in this, and the level of ease of implementation given it wouldn't be a priority exactly. XD

Big fan of this idea! I've had similar thoughts myself. Granted, when I've had those thoughts it's been on one of those days where I went for that 4th cup of coffee. So then I just told myself to calm down and not worry about such things. But now that someone else has said it out loud, I throw my full support behind it.

Every once in a great while, when something spectacular happens to a player, I'll reach out to my league commish to add a nickname to a player. (https://fumbbl.com/p/player?op=view&player_id=13775750) Aaron "Old Oneeye" Hothawk picked up his nickname after getting stabbed in the eye by a dark elf assassin. (Of course that was back in the days when one of the MNG results was literally "Gouged Eye".)

Yep. In the past, I've said that would be fun as well. I thought, programming aside, would it be worth it to have a small admin section to JUST take $1 donations to FUMBBL to have player names changed at coaches request, for this purpose? Maybe not worth it, but the nicknames are fun, and would be popular, I think, because they remind you of your player's feats, even as you watch your team get taken apart.
League admin can now do all of this, AND can have totally custom icons in a custom league, so I'm in a happy place in my league. Who knows, with all of the FUMBBL and client updates lately, this might make it to comp division eventually.

(And that said... as long as they're occasional requests -- if folks want to add a nickname to their Secret League Open players because <something cool> -- reach out to me. Discord or FUMBBL PM are fine... with the player url and the nickname desired.)
