Team development.
Hi.

27 games played (all Blackbox), 6 with the newest orc team. Result 3/0/3, which is pretty fine for me. :)

While trying to learn the basics of the game, I'm also wondering the orc team development. How many players, gobbos or no gobbos, which skills to choose etc. The challenge is not primarily in the details, but rather choosing or finding the (hopefully) working idea of high TR team to pursue.

It is possible to look at some of the most successful orc teams and just copy, but I like the idea of understanding synergy. Meaning that I will (or at least try to) form an idea of the 11 players on the field with different skills working together and completing each other.

Well, many of you experienced coaches have probably tons of ideas tested and tuned up, but I've noticed that emphasizing the team development from time to time when thinking Blood Bowl could be a lots of fun in addition to playing.

Have a dice day!

Orcs are a good team to learn with.

They are quite strong at low tv.

I would suggest taking tackle on at least one blitzer.

A lineman with dp, and maybe kick would be helpful also.

Guard is a very strong choice for most players too.

Good luck!

If you want to foul a lot (which Orcs very often do, depending on the situation) then 14 is a reasonable number to shoot for. Another school of thought would be to keep the TV lower and shoot for 12 players but then you need to be more careful with the fouls. If you have 3 players sitting on the bench all game than your TV is going to be higher (so you will play against harder teams) and that extra is wasted - unless you get down a few players during the game.

Try to score with Black Orcs. 4+ with a reroll is supposed to work 75% of the time, so it's not as daft as it sounds. Skilled BoBs are a necessity (Block, MB/Tackle, Guard).

Blitzers pick up spp almost by themselves - Tackle, MB, Guard are the most popular normal rolls for them.

Gobbos and Throwers are a luxury.

Scoring with BoB's is a great idea and not so prone to failure as you may think, I site Bull centaurs as proof of dice defying as they pick-up time after time with the same chance as a BoB.

Welcome to FUMBBL sir, I hope you enjoy all facets of this most wonderful site.

Take care Dalfort.

I'd recommend going out of your way to skill BOBs at lower TV. Just don't risk it when playing against Surehands or really fast teams. I didn't skill mine, or rather the blitzers skilled way too quickly, and now I get creamed quite often as I don't have the muscle to back up those blitzers.

Block (on BOBs), Guard, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Piling On
Dirty Player on a lineman
Maybe one Frenzy somewhere to keep your opponents thinking

Until you get to much higher TV, I think that's about it.
