WIL Gryphon Conference - Round 1 overview.
Round 1 analysis. (short version)
Well we've got 1 round 2 game played on top of the 4 round 1 games and the table showing some early promise for some and some despair for others.

Death Isle Ghosts Have the lead with a 100% record from two games and look on course to beat last seasons 3rd place finish with a push for promotion.

The other winners from round 1 are Mistaken for Strangers & Eaters of Brains. Mistaken for Strangers beating out there promoted brothers, while Eaters of Brains showing they deserve to stay the league beating the 3rd promoted side.

Pour le Mérite & Rickson By Armbar start things off with a draw.

Underground Unit suffer defeat in there first game in this division, but it wasn't as bad as the White Isle Undead Soviet who lost both of there first games. This brought about a little known rant to which the commissioner said & I quote "I took one look at my opponents this season and realised that I stood the same chance as a cat in a hurricane.". The Underground Unit fans are overjoyed by this news that at least one of the teams in the league don't see them as easy prey. :P

Last WIL and Testament also lost their first round game.

Round 2 preview.

Pour le Mérite vs. Underground Unit

A sizeable 370k of inducements for the Underworld and they seek there first points of the season. Elfs will be looking for promotion after last seasons last place finish. Last rounds draw against the Orcs wasn't too bad of a result, but this is a must win game for them if they want promotion.

Mistaken for Strangers vs. Last WIL and Testament

220k inducements for the young slann team chasing another win after there positive start, but they will have to do it without their Blitzer Trebble. Last WIL and Testament still looking for some points after losing their first game. It was against the mighty Death Isle Ghosts, but if they lose again and to one of the promoted sides as well, then some panic might start to settle in.

Rickson By Armbar vs. Eaters of Brains

An even match by TV standards, but these Orcs see themselves as a Premier team and still go to sleep saying that's all a dream. The reality of it is they need wins and not draws. Eaters of Brains are here to show that the conferences are tougher than they look and it's where they belong.

Every round some players are unfortunate to have there careers cut short or to not be deemed worthwhile of the apos time. Of course there's a 3rd option where the apo screws it up. Any way here are the injured from the games played so far.

Deaths:
The Bleatmaster II - experienced Pestigor for the Last WIL and Testament. Killed on a 1d block by the legend wright Dead Dog. He will always be remembered as the rookie that rolled 10 and got +Ma.

Engels Financier of Marx ll - experienced wright for the White Isle Undead Soviet. another kill for Dead Dog. This time he used his frenzy instincts to get his opponent down and piled on him for the kill. With only Mighty blow to his name he will not be remembered.

Sliptongue - experienced lineman for the Mistaken for Strangers. Killed while being blocked by the wright Marx Hero Of the Workers. With only block to his name, he will be forgotten.

-AV:
Marx Hero Of the Workers - emerging star wright for the White Isle Undead Soviet. Suffered a Serious Concussion that led to early retirement after being hit by a fireball from a wizard. Was given Mighty Blow, Guard & Piling On before his injury.
