“Warpstone Open Qualifier Final

Da Glitz Gitz qualify for the main event! In a slow, brutal game, da Gitz held off Sotek's lizards.

The Warriors received first and kept the ball safe while the saurii pounded away at the orc line. Boomboom they sure went, and orcs were leaving the field en masse. Only lone tackle-mb Blitzer Nozdrag, playing safety down by da Gitz end zone, prevented the Warriors' Skinks from making a run for it. The few remaining orcs further upfield made a good job of keeping in the way though, and when Warriors' Kroxigor Krushudon made a terrible mistake, the lizards suddenly found themselves in time trouble...

A Saurus marked Nozdrag while the ball-carrying skink raced upfield, but he made one gfi too many and fell down, severely hurting himself in the fall. The Warrior's apo saved him to leave the lizards a scoring chance. Da Gitz recovered the ball and Nozdrag dodged free to put a boot in the stunty's head - stun, 0-0 at halftime. Much to everyone's surprise.

Da Gitz put the ball into the cage in the 2nd half and waited for an opening. A few turns went by with nothing out of the ordinary happening, just the blocking battle on the line with a few fouls thrown in. Da Gitz shifted the cage to the left of the field to take advantage of a weakness, and when the Warriors covered the flank they left themselves vulnerable...

BOOM! A fireball leveled three Saurii, leaving the midfield open! Da Gitz advanced the cage while dirty thrower Thraka put star Saurus Goboomboom permanently out of commission. The fat lady started singing and that was game. The few remaining lizards were easily handled by da Gitz.

Although I've made lots of attempts, this is the first time I've actually qualified for a big tourney. If I am to succeed in the main event, I need to improve my game against elves in particular. Damn, Sinner could easily have beaten me in the semis had luck been equal, and I had 50 str up in that game. Da Gitz aim to give it their best shot.”
