This was an odd game. I accepted the match up not quite sure how many thralls would make it through unscathed. Morley's revenge took out one dwarf and Porphyria got off to a blinding start in the first half, the first blocks saw 4 dwarves on the floor, one with a serious injury that the apothecary took care of. Sideroblastic the vampire was knocked out in the 2nd or 3rd turn and only returned on the last turn of the game so Aplastic held up the fort well. Two hobgoblins were seriously injured in another turn later in the fist half (one courtesy of the crowd) and it was only through a bit of good fortune that Aplastic ran in the touchdown in the 6th turn, having been knocked over by a bullcentaur. The dwarves were unable to score in the remaining 2 turns and at the start of the 2nd half it was 8 thralls and a vamp against nine of the short folk. Thrall numbers were depleted gradually through the second half, eventually leaving Aplastic running for the clinching touchdown. A bull centaur knocked aplastic over however knocking the admirable vamp out, this left just 2 thralls on the field, and an lovely play from the only remaining hobgoblin saw a short pass recieved by an open bull centaur who ran it in on the last turn. A desperate -2b block by a thrall to put a tackle zone on the bull was in vain. An interesting game, horrible luck for the dwarves in the first half and then a thorough pounding and a good play to tie up the game in the second half completed the vampires first outing. With only 2 players left on the field at one point it was a miracle that the first game lack of apothecary was not more punished. Still - no vamps went for a bite, and all the thralls remain ripe for the next fixture. Sorry about those hobbos. More where they came from though ; ) .Cheers father nurgle, good game. Give a rematch when you've got a troll, 4 more mightyblow, 5 guarders, and a couple of ag 4 hobgoblins and two monster bull centaurs. My thralls will be waiting to be bled = )
