#8 Roger Savini – Smashed Knee (NI)
#8 Roger Savini – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#1 Emmett "Scraps" Lojack – Dead (RIP)
Harddup Cup Skiva Division Game 3

The first half went well for the Terrors. A quick pass on Turn 1 from Nick R. Feliak to B. Lou Selsun, followed by a 10 square sprint allowed me to out pace his defense and score easily on Turn 2. An unlucky fumbled kick-off by gobbo Unrau allowed werewolf Selsun to run in and pick up the ball. A Turn 4 blitz allowed Selsun to run into the endzone for the Terrors second (and final) TD of the game. CoachZ's lousy luck continued on the next kick-off. The ball landed in his endzone and a botched block allowed my werewolves to run into his secondary and begin disrupting his offense. His Ogres were succumbing to Bone-Head left and right, but he made a few key blitzes to prevent my wolves from gaining possession. I was finally able to knock the ball loose on my Turn 8 and would have scored again, but for a botched pick-up by Harry "Shoulders" Heddin. It was a sign of things to come.

The second half was ugly. His Ogres actually started throwing blocks and although his Gobbos couldn't hold onto the ball for more than a turn or two, the entire half was basically one long, grinding drive for his offense. Turn 1 saw Ogre Rivers put hapless zombie Roger Savini in the hurt locker with a niggling fractured leg.and Gorgeous George himself put Harry "Shoulders" Heddin on the turf by the sideline where he would remain for most of the half. Unrau was once again unable to pick up the ball where it lay behind the LOS, and a blitz by Wilbur Wight cleared the path for B. Lou Selsun to pick up the ball and run away with it. Selsun fumbled and Wilbur was quickly sent to the KO box by Ogre Denman. Unrau stepped in with an assisted blitz, sent Selsun to the turf, and picked up the ball (finally). Then Gorgeous George delivered a devastating block to Terror enforcer Emmett "Scraps" Lojack and even the powerful necromantic spells holding him together weren't enough to prevent the subsequent explosion of flesh and bone. Groundskeepers are still scraping pieces of the gollem off the field (to be used in the inevitable creation of Emmett "Scraps" Lojack Mk. II). Turn 3 saw ball-carrier Unrau run into the middle of the Terror secondary, where he was subsequently blitzed by Orville Wight, knocking the ball to the turf, where it lay for the remainder of the game as both teams made futile attempts to pick it up.

So, a victory for the Telluride Terrors, but a Pyrrhic Victory. CoachZ coached a good game, despite horrible luck in the first half and mediocre luck in the second.

(And btw CoachZ, my "ugly" comment post-game referred to the 2nd half, not you personally. ;)
