“Good evening again, sports fans! Tonight we bring you a painful match from the new round of Mr Whippy's Emporium Regional League XV.
The rookie Phenoms, the Tasmanian Rangers, have again won the day, despite playing like a bunch of halflings during the first half. It brings tear to the eyes, folks, when you see just how badly these elves handled the ball and avoiding the opposing players. The opposition, the Norscan Benns Bloody Brissy Berserkers, were able to capitalise on this early bout of terrible playing and score a tocuhdown well before the halftime siren.
During the second half, however, the Rangers managed to pull their heads together. Whatever Coach Lelruthus said to them in the locker room certainly seems to have inspired the team, with their plays suddenly becoming reminiscent of some magical elves from a faraway... oh, never mind, thats what most elves are these days.
Suffice to say, the Rangers were able to take the game to the beserkers hard, causing several injuries and reducing their opponents numbers while successfully moving the ball forward to allow the team's star blitzer, Jim Bacon, to score twice.
Moving into the closing rounds of the SWL season, both teams have some strong talent to bring forward for their upcoming games. The Beserkers, unfortunately, will be playing their next match without their star blitzer, Thor, and it is dubious as to whether Thor will return this season at all.
Thwahnlow votes:
3 - Joachim: For being the only player for the Beserkers to actually PUNCH someone to cause a Badly Hurt result.
2 - Krug: For being one of the most tactical Ogres i've seen... normally I see OGRE SMASH! rather than OGRE HELP SMASH!
1 - Thor: For being the Berserker's sole Touchdown Scorer”
