“Bit of an epic match this one - playing time 2h 35mins. 16 Rats with no tackle vs an amazon team, also with 16 players. Definitely a match worth watching if you're into that sort of thing.



Spoilers below:

The first half, we made the mistake of leaving a little gap to dodge into, and a pow came up taking down our ball carrier down. Once in the hands of an ag4 blodging zon, there was little we could do to stop her scoring. We made it hard, but 8 block dice, and a few dodges through TZs was not enough to stop her. Our AG5 gutter runner stepped onto the field to make sure that we got a touchdown in the 2 remaining turns - he was a little lucky to succeed.

The second half saw a dropped catch leave the ball about as open as it needs to be for a gutter runner. Personally, I reckon i would have stayed away from passing the ball once the rain started. Anyway, the result was that we got the ball away, but didn't make it that far, and a perfect pass to an amazon linewoman from some bastard in the crowd gave them a touchdown. This time there were 3 turns in which to score, and we were very fortunate to succeed in the touchdown. It came down to our Rat ogre to save the day with a beautiful blitz on the ball carrier, and a few dodges, but we made it, and into overtime it went.

At this point, we'd been playing for just over 2 hours. Both teams still had eleven players to field, but the amazon apothecary had been used.

In the final drive, the amazon armour finally gave way, and after just two or three turns, they were down to five or six players on the pitch. It should never have happened, but when the rat ogre rolled up triple skulls, there was a path for a 1d hit on the gutter runner with the ball, and it came up with a pow.

BAM!

So, there we were, outnumbering almost 2-1, but still unable to secure the ball properly. Eventually, in turn 8, our AG5 finally got the ball. The way it often seems to go, he came oh so close to scoring, but stumbled and fell in the end zone on that one last dice roll of the game.”
