"Those Elves are amazing!" was the shouts from the crowd...after initally attempting to bash away and attempt to smash a pathway for our players to score, it was realized that the only chance we had was to play like elves...dodging, passing and catching for the TD.

The first half St. Louis kicked off to Boston. A scrum started along the sideline and numerous norse blitzers frenzied into dwarves and hobgoblins and sent them into the crowd...likewise getting sent into the crowd themselves as well. Finally, marked by a dwarf that could not be blitzed off him, Aaron Miles decides it is elf time and dodges away from the mark and races towards the end zone. Near the end of the first half, Miles finally scores and St. Louis goes up 1-0 which holds up until halftime.

The second half, St. Louis received the ball first, but was down to 8 players on the field...and quickly had players stunned and it seems desperate. Adam Wainwright grabbed the ball and scooted forward, gfi and then a pass to David Eckstein. A blitz against Eckstein failed to drop him, but he was pinned between a hobgoblin and a dwarf. A dodge, 2 gfi put a guard in the perfect position, then a 2d block followed by Eckstein doing a 2d blitz followed by 2 gfi to score (burned last RR on the final gfi). Only 5 turns remained and St. Louis was up 2-0. However, Boston was not done. On the next kickoff, the fans invaded the pitch...5 of the 9 St. Louis players were stunned...10 Boston players remained standing and two turns later it was 2-1. The next possession, Wainwright fails to pick up the ball (burns RR gained from kick-off roll). This allows the Boston players to push towards the ball...St. Louis seemed exhausted and they failed to do anything. So one last chance for Boston - they needed a hobgoblin to pickup the ball, toss to another hobgoblin who could walk in for the score...but the pickup failed and time was called. Certainly a game where Boston was on a roll, but St. Louis was saved by the clock!

An excellent game, well played - thanks!
