Karaz-a-Karak United were to be the next team to path the way of Real Sociedead’s glorious OBBA Cup victory. This peon populated team was merely an annoying bug to swat away… their track record proved that their coach was dumbfounded against Undead teams, with his only two losses being to teams of that ilk, namely: Pisa All Star and Sylvania Villa.

The game therefore would be used as a training exercise to help build the skill of some key players.

The Dwarves however had other things in mind, they had hired legendary slayer of the dead, Zara the Slayer… luckily The Count, not getting to play in the previous game, wanted to accompany Real again, which we were only too keen to oblige with… but that didn’t mean that Real were taking any chances!

In the first moments of the drive Real struggled though to remove the wall at the LOS, and with the aid of a Haritz, Francisco put Zara to the ground… then it was Juanito’s turn to put the boot in… POW!!!

Zara was seriously injured before she could make any stake in the game, hehehe. The funniest thing of course was the fact that the Dwarven coaches heart sank to see he spent 70K on nothing more than a fleeting glance of eye candy!

The count moved in to hold the illegal drug taking Troll Slayer at bay… and the rest was easy, even to the point that Real were happy to let dwarves get close to star Ghoul Díaz de Cerio… they were untouchable.

Try as they might, Wight, Francisco, refused to take the ball from Diaz… forcing Diaz to pick it back and score himself… would this Wight ever learn anything!?

Second half, the Dwarves were determined to make amends or break some skulls trying. Still reeling from that early foul the dwarves made a beeline for Juanito and put him out of the game… or at least would have had he not regenerated. The Dwarves made a break down the right hand flank… but the Real Ghouls were on hand to make it hard for them. The ghoul blitz however didn’t take the ball carrier down but did manage to push him back, and Real knew that his stubby legs wouldn’t carry him to the endzone before they could catch up with him.

But the Dwarves weren’t to be perturbed, some nice dodging got the runner within inches of the endzone… but none of his team mates could offer him any protection from Gerardo García and the ghouls, who promptly put him down hard in the endzone, but all was not lost as the ball spilt just by the runner… although both the ball and runner were covered enough to foil the attempt he made. After that, Diaz scooped the ball up and passed it to Francisco who finally decided he did want to score, and steadily walked up to make it 2 – 0.

The grumpy dwarves surfed Zombie blocker, Arturo Sevillano, out of frustration… the cowards letting the crowd do th work for them - but he merely offered a drooling smile as he had held up 2 dwarves for most of the half!

End result, the win, two players trained up, and no casualties… a successful outing indeed.

GG Maw – I know you were dreading it, despite you being dwarf and me only having 2 MBs :P

You went for the win rather than surviving though even though the odds due to the teams were massively stacked against you.

GL in season 2… a couple more spps on some choice players and the team will transform totally. :)

KaK U came into this one expected to be blown out, and likely beaten up. The dwarves had other plans, as they secretly hired Zara the Slayer, who happened to be vacationing nearby. Someone must have leaked the plans however, as the undead showed no surprise at all, and fouled her out of the match at the opening gun. The dwarves tenaciously clung to their defense, repeatedly threatening the ball carriers throught the first half, and even nearly taking it away after a failed pass deep in their own end. Real would not be denied however, and gathered the ball back up, scoring as the half ended.

United was ready for the second half, preparing to cage the ball upfield, and with a backup tactic to switch sides unexpectedly, but a miscue had blizter Darren Mackie forget to blitz his mark, leaving his wing open for an undead counter attack. As the line crumbled, runner John Stewart made a break up the original side, and reach the goalline before finally being brought down by Real wights. The pitch broke down into many mini scrums, but the dwarves never again managed to threaten the ball, and Gary Dempsey suffered a groin pull for his efforts. In the end, it was another buzzer beating TD by wight Sanchez that ended the match.

Honestly, i was more than a bit surprised the first half went as well for me as it did... I had expected to be badly bloodied, and likely down by more than 1. A few better blocks on his ghouls might even have changed the game a bit, but even with tackle i mostly pushed them around. The second half was where i got frustrated, and a misclick turned a blitz into a move, and it was never really the same for me.... All in all, i was prolly a bit pessimistic towards sera, and i was beat by a better team and a better coach. Next time... i'm going to get him though .
