Dear Vanyar,

After our great victory over the Ogres, the threat of Khemri did not faze us one bit… so the fact that our Ring would not function in the presence of the Lost Kingdoms did not worry us. Thanks to our cousins, Imladris Isolationists, the Deadmen were a Mummy down for the game, but their strength was bolstered by the mighty Wrath of Isildur. The only concern of ours was that team captain Tarius had been drinking the night before and was feeling a little Bone Headed.

The Deadmen were to receive first and we set up tightly puckered, worrying not of any blistering speed catching us unaware from our slow adversaries. Indeed, just as White Men Can’t Jump, Skeletons Can’t Run… so when they tried to sprint those extra yards to get into cover, they obviously fell!

We quickly pounced and scoped up the ball for a quick touchdown in the first quarter of the game… on the way surfing Wrath into the KO box, the only time he would leave the pitch.

The efforts of the Mummies was laughable and could do little to our front men save stun them from time to time. On their second drive it seemed apparent that the Deadmen should have invested into some Pickup-Ras rather than Throw-Ras since they could not pick the ball up, and our speedy players quickly piled on the pressure and scored at the end of the half.

In the second half, with three mummies on the LOS, the rest of the Deadmen downfield – and the fact that we had done more damage to them, albeit mostly regenerated, the lure of fighting the Deadmen toe to toe was too much! Unfortunately, even despite fouling their star Mummy to the reserves box the Deadmen proved to be too tough and quickly our numbers were cut so short that our ball carrier spent most of the half deep in our own half. A late hand-off, pass and a failed catch was enough to ensure a third and final TD was coming… and it did!

3 – 0 and a point margin of: 16 – 2 means that we should have done enough to get through to the final… as long as the Corsairs do not blow it all!

Keravin had the rare privilege of playing Khemri that fail to make good injury rolls, and seeing just how their poor ball skills fail to make up for it by a long way!

Ker soon began squandering RRs on trying to put Blodgers down which left him short when he needed them… and his failed GFI’s, which were many, compounded his problems.

Me deciding to try and get rid of the Mummies whilst I could was in hindsight a mistake and I came off worse, but a late score stopped Ker from getting a consolation TD and what might be a valuable 2 points!
